OK so there's a thread out there about the most popular doberman names. So how about telling us about the name you chose for your doberman that is unique and different rather than popular. I know we have some terrific names out there.
Tracy, Drago, Sierra, and coming soon Mariah
Rush was named after a 70's rock n roll band, Mahogany Rush. I'd been saving the name for awhile, because it seemed like such a good name for a red male show dog..he kept it even though it was discovered he wasn't going to be able to bring two testicles into the ring.
At the time I got Murrey, all of the bitches I had were given the name of famous human bitches-we had a Maddie (Hayes, from that tv show, Moonlighting), an Alexis (Carrington), etc. So Murrey's name started out as Murphy Brown.
Then her breeder started giving me a hard time, she thought we should use Marian as a call name (registered name being Heleva's Marian of Dubois). I thought Marian was an AWFUL call name, and didn't appreciate anyone telling me what I should call my dog..so Murphy got corrupted into Murrey. It started as a joke, just to be obnoxious, but the name FIT her. LOL, I told her breeder that the dog had told me she was a little jewish doberman.
Razzle got her call name from her handler/co breeders wife..who started calling her Razzle Dazzle before I even bought her. We tried a few other names, but this one stuck, again, it fit her. Finding a registered name was more of a challenge, since it had to be sports related and I'm not too into sports. So we cheated a bit, using the famous "who's on first" comedy routine, which was about baseball.
