Hi everyone, I am a new member, new dog owner and a new Doberman owner. My girlfriend and I just bought a house in April and we decided to get a Doberman at the local shelter. She's had Rotties in her life but I convinced her to get a Doberman because they were smaller and I always loved the lean look of them.
We found our little Madeline Alexis Lowrey at the shelter. She was a stray and they thought she was about 7 months old. She weighed in at an incredible 37lbs and I could wrap my two hands around her waist.
We were perplexed when we got her because she's so small. At first we thought maybe she was a German Pinscher however looking through pictures and reading off the web the profiles of the face we indeed think she's full Dobie. We asked our vet and he stated that she is full doberman.
We've gotten her home and she's fattened up quite a bit just tipping the scale at 50lbs. We love her and hope that we can learn more from this site.
