| I don't get it!! :( I have been going to a conservation area that is the unoffical dog park in Oshawa. I have met a young couple that have a very friendly 2 year old Doberman and a 4 year old boxer. Today I ran into him and he told me that his wife is trying to get pregnant so they will have to get rid of the dogs... I told him, done right the dog's will adjust to a new baby. He said he would have no problem rehoming the boxer but he did not want the doberman to fall in the wrong hands. I was so upset, I could not believe that he was willing to give up his dogs. I was all surprised because they seemed like very good dog people....really into them. Anyway's I asked him if he had a contract with his breeder to return the dog....the answer was no. So I told him to contact Mary at Glengate....sorry Mary. Just makes me soooo upset that I had to vent.

| | Alpha | Why would you get dogs in the first place if this was how you felt? I just don't understand it at all. |

| I don't know what is up with people. I am 33 years old......my BF moved out to Phoenix last year and we see eachother every two months. He is allergic to cats.....and I have 4. I would never give up my cats. He knows and I know, that if our relationship goes any further......either he is going to have to take lots of Zyrtec, get allergy shots or buy a big enough house that the cats have enough room to roam for themselves (say a downstairs/ family type room with lots of windows) but, my kitties are with me until they pass on. And as far as adding a baby/child to the mix........you can work that out. I make a committment to each animal I bring home.......only some horrific event like a Hurricane Katrina would ever separate us.
and Rudi, too. Atleast my BF and Rudi are best buds.

| Another vote for I don't get it. It sounds like they, the young couple, wouldn't get this set of pictures either... http://nynerd.com/dog-hugs-baby-photos/. |

| Perhaps they know something about the dogs temperments that they are not disclosing?
That would be the only acceptable reason, imo.

| My second Weim Mason came from a pregnant couple....he had epilepsy that they didn't disclose....said he had two mild seizures months before I got him and felt they would be a isolated incident. Well they weren't...he had the worst kind of epilepsy....would have up to 7 full blown gram-Mal seizures at a time. That poor dog had his first seizures 36 hours after his adoption. He was sooo scared. It was months before he wagged his tail and a year before he would bark. He did eventually feel at home here, and we were all in love with him. He died January 2nd from the Epilepsy. He was truly the most loving, sweet dog I've ever owned. It was a privilege to be his owner. The prior owners were a-holes. Their tough luck though...I enjoyed my time with Mason, and miss him terribly.
