He kept escaping out of the backyard so we had the upper half of the backyard fenced in. They just finished the install about 15mins ago.

He's adjusting to it pretty well. We anticipate him getting much bigger and don't think he'll leap a 5 ft fence, though I know dobies are known for jumping pretty high.

Looking good, nice away from the house so you can still have your sitting area, the steps that way are perfect for it.

That is nice. I have heard of dobies that can jump over fences but my two dont even realize that they could just leap over the baby gate in the spare bedroom where the cat gets away to. LOL

What type of dog house what one recommend for a male dobie? As you can see from the pic of his new play area, there is no shade. We're considering the Igloo dog house unless someone knows of something better.

Why not a tarp over a section of it? Provides both shade and protection from rain. A house, especially the igloos will take a lot of ground room away.
