My 8 month dobies one ear still wont stand???

My 8 month dobies one ear still wont stand???
Here is my 8 month almost 9 month at the end of dec. Problem im having is that one of her ears wont stay standing. The other ear has been standing for about 4 months at least and the other ear wont stay up. The longest it stood up was about two weeks and then one morning i woke up and it was limp. I dont know what else to do but to quit trying and leave it down. Anyone have a pointers. Here are a few pics after taking it down about 30min ago. It was tapped up for about two weeks this time. Just curious if anybody else has had this problem.

I'm still taping one ear on a 17 month old. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes longer than you might like. Keep posting.

Silas is 13 months and still posting - but I learned here that if it flops at ALL - get it up ASAP! Don't let it go limp or you'll suffer setbacks like I did.

If it stood for 2 weeks, don't give up now!

You also might want to try glucosamine if you're not already....

It looks like you do a good job posting. Just keep at it. When you take it down, just air it out and then back up.

As I said, I'm still posting one ear on a 17 month old. He has been given 1000 mg of vitamin C daily for some time. He's now on 1500 mg of glucosamine daily as well to try to help that ear.

Friendly suggestion - you need to get her nails under better control. They are too long.

Is that just halfway up the ear? Just enough to stabilize the crease?

Yes. In his case, his tip is quite stable. So, am just using about a 2 inch long post. There is nothing in the base of his ear either.

Copper can hold the ear up now. It's just not as stong as I'd like, and it tends to come down at the crease when he's tired or stressed.

I see this post is old but I just ran into it. To the person who was trying to get the 17 month old ear to stand, did it stand eventually? If so,at what age? I always was told that if at app a year its not standing it never will. What age can they still get them to stand?

I would post the ear and when you take it down let the dog use it for the day but dont leave it down overnight. If you left it down for two weeks then you could of caused the problem. Keep posting and frankly, I'd do both ears. The other ear isn't perfectly straight either. Posting time varies from dog to dog and looks like you may have delayed it by leaving the ear down too long. All you can do is repost and this time don't leave it unposted overnight.
