Yikes it's getting colder out!

It's starting to get colder here in Ontario around the GTA where we live. I noticed last year Coco was getting cold on our walks so I bought her a coat when my hubby was at work because he doesn't believe in dogs needing coats. :2surprise: boo to him!

She got it at the end of last winter and only wore it a few times but she hated it lol. She walks funny and stiff in it like little kids do in their snowsuits.

It's cold tonight so I put it on her without the back leg straps because she especially does not like those! She's going to be 8 in April and although she doesn't like it, she doesn't shiver on our walks now. Her thyroid is good as she just had a senior :2surprise: wellness blood panel done last week at her check up. Her vet said she's in great shape for a senior dog and has very nice white teeth! I attribute that to her raw diet and her vet agrees.

I think she needs a purple polka dotted hat with a pompom to go with her coat. Coco does not agree with me!:| I'm hoping my pic attaches because this is not my forte.

I love this girl and hope we have many, many more winters of walking together!

Eta: and of course she's upside down in her pic lol. If a mod could right her I would be very appreciative!

I have seen them and they seem to be nice and warm. If I can get her used to this one I may get one of them next.

This coat has a heavy lining inside and feels warm. It's from Greenhawk and pretty popular around here. Very affordable. $35.

She's never worn pj's, sweaters or coats so she just needs to get used to it I think. She's so funny though, when I take it off she races around the house like she's been released from a torture device!

I am sorry but i could not help myself to edit this post....

For the doberman that enjoys the freedom of not wearing anything at all
Cozy does not do this coat justice.

It is atmospheric. Transportive. It transcends a level of play comfort by imbuing the soul with with the bravest of dragonslayers.
When you put on this coat you will immediately know what it is like to wear something similar to a warm and snugly cloud. To transport even the most self conscious of dobermans to find their highest power of zoomie. That much is definable. The rest is difficult to put into words.
From Greenhawk $35

Just had our first snowfall last week and have about 8 inches. Took Kris, Bonnie and my sister's Golden out for a run in the fields behind her place. They just ran and ran and sure slept in the next morning. I have a coat for Kris but have never used it on her. She does not seem to act the least bit cold even when it get sub-zero as she never sits still long enough.

Coco was like Kris when she was younger but she's slowing down a bit as she gets older. She's still got good energy but a wee bit less than when she was a young girl.

Gotta keep the old girl warm and toasty even though she doesn't like it!

Coco is adorable and warm in that coat / $35 is awesome value.
- in S/W ON here, we experiencing some rain (off & on)
- but snow not sticking around yet / we like that
I still have to get my 4 foot wide hydraulic snow blower, front mounted on my John Deere garden tractor & remove the rear tiller.
- winter is such a PITrear...LOL

All right, enough is enough!

Coco Loco, B.C. Coco demands that Ontario Coco takes back her weather!

It's -12 here, it never gets that cold. Everyone is wearing their jammies inside the house and walks are down to an absolute minimum with full body jammies, boots and hats (thank goodness for SieYa!)

On the bright side, it's been sunny, bright and clear everyday this week. If you don't mind having Popsicles for toes, it's a nice change from the usual pouring rain and driving wind we usually get this time of year.

It actually looks like Christmas time this year

Down to 14 deg. here tonight. If I didn't have my animals I would be in hibernation with the bears. Every morning now out by 6 am to break the ice in Chickens water.
But thanks for the bright note, Stryker - 103 days until Spring! Yay

I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December.
A magical thing
And sweet to remember.

'We are nearer to Spring
Than we were in September,"
I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December.

We were 4.5 Fahrenheit last night. And it’s 10 right now (9:30 PM). Only about 3 inches of snow in the last day or two--but it certainly isn’t melting off.
