Hi ! I am looking for a vet that does ear cropping in Ottawa area ... Does anyone knows a good vet that does ? I am living in Val-d'Or, Québec (north west). Ottawa is a 4:30 drive. On the other side, Timmins, Kirkland Lake is not too far also. Any suggestions ? Thank you for your help.
Sorry I can't find my list of Provences that still allow cropping--I know that BC doesn't because we lost a very good cropper who did most of the show crops for Washington, Idaho and Oregon when BC went to no cropping.
I have had 4 dobermans and all have had their ears cropped. I feel that the cropped ears are beautiful and elegant and so much a part of the breed's look. I love dobies and those with natural ears are just as wonderful, I just prefer to have mine cropped. I really tire of those that bash owners who have cropped their dobe's ears and are very adamant that ear cropping is wrong and argue that the ears are cropped only for cosmetic reasons. True, it is for cosmetic reasons, but the discomfort for the dog is only a few days at most (the taping doesn't seem to phase them). I am an RN and every time I have to prepare a newborn baby for a circumcision procedure I can't help thinking that the circumcision is only being done for cosmetic reasons. So, my analogy is this, if you're going to bash me for cropping my doberman's ears, I'm going to ask you if you have a son, and if you had your son circumcised.... bingo, same argument applies.

I live in the Ottawa area and as far as I know the closest place that does ear cropping is Toronto or London, Ontario
Good luck!
