I live alone and am usually gone about 10 hours a day Monday through Friday. With that said, I have someone come over from around mid day to let Jarvis out of his kennel, potty, and run around for a bit so he's not alone the full 10 hour day.
when I was single Many years ago. I left my boy Samson in a fenced back yard. It was 8 foot fenced. Lots of shade, (north florida) Plenty of fresh water. I also worked with him so as to not have separation anxieties. That is one thing I don't understand anymore. People seem to try to accommodate the dog that has anxieties rather then try to help their dog to cope with it.
My girl is left for 6 hours Monday thru Thursday. I actually drop her off at a relatives Monday thru Friday so her time alone is shorter. Even with that, I have a dog walker come at the midpoint for a half hour. For me, it is more about meeting her energy needs. She is still a puppy and is full of it!
I was single when I got Creed, but lived with my parents and grandparents due to various health reasons with all parties in the house, so my folks could get him out when I was at work if he needed to potty or if they wanted him to play with their dogs.
I am a single owner of two dogs. Until recently I was gone about 10 hours each day. This required a lot of planning and not much sleep to walk them enough, train them enough, and cuddle them enough [emoji4] Now I have a job that allows me basically any freedom that I could want--lunch whenever I choose, long lunches, work from home, etc.... The boys love that I can come see them and spend time during the day. At most, they are left for four hours at a time now. As of recently, I am dating someone who loves them and eagerly spends time with them and tends to "dog duties" as needed (although we live separately).
I live alone with 3 dogs. Its tough i must admit coz there is no one to help out and they need u. They have taken a toll on my social life but it was all worth it. I am lucky coz i have somewhat flexible work schedule. When i had my first sibe, i came home during lunch everyday till she was one yo. With Kita, my 2nd - i had even more flexibility. I worked from home half day 2 days in a week (tue n thu) and had a trainer come over mon, wed and fri. I was with them weekends of course. With Lucius my 3rd dog, home either half day by working from home or home at lunch time. It can work but with a lot of changes to daily routines. If i have to attend a business dinner, it means i leave work early at 430pm so i can be home at 5pm to walk and feed my dogs before i meet them at 730pm. I changed from a social beast to a party pooper by saying no to most social invites. If you want to hang out, u can always come to my house. I will provide the alcohol.
Walking them has became tougher than a full time job as i cant walk multiple dogs at a time. So many hours dedicated to just exercising them. Weekends are just spent with them...and i usually plan around my dogs. Good news is i dont need to pay expensive gym membership to stay fit anymore!
Not single but my husband and I leave our boy home for 6-8 hours at a time 5x a week and he is fine. He's over 2 years old (but we've done this since he was about 8 months old, before that my SO stopped home and let him out at lunch) and he respects the home. We leave him the sofa and fresh water and he is happy as a clam
Single gal here. My boy gets let out twice a day by my next door neighbor who works nights, so when German Shepherd needs out, he lets my guy out too, That usually involves a round of playing hie-n-seek around the trees in the
yard !
it works out well. I'd much rather be home with my boy, but Mom has to work, I make it all up to him when I get home.
Stella is home 3 days per week about 8 hours. I come home at lunch and give treats and cuddles. She has a secure backyard and a dog door, so she can dig for gophers or lay in my bed. I usually find her lounging in the big window seat soaking up the sun when I get home. She has no separation anxiety issues.
Single 2 dobes(had 4) and old(me) not much of a chance an old fat lady would find Mr.Right at my age They would have to love dogs. A lot
