Ok I was talked to my friend DeWayne who lives in Ohio. He also has a doberman and she AKC regestered. Well when i asked him what color she was he said chocolate. Well needless to say i was a little puzzled at that. This is his first doberman and he said the breeders he got her from marked her as being chocolate. After a little bit of hunting trough pics on the internet we finally found one that looked like his dog. Well come to find out its a fawn. Has anyones doberman ever been referred to as chocolate colored?
The Japanese Kennel Club listed red/rust as chocolate/tan - Chi's mother and maternal grandparents are all listed as chocolate/tan on her pedigree from the JKC but the AKC dogs in her pedigree are listed as red/rust.

If some one said, chocolate dobe, I would picture a brown dobe with very faint almost non existant rust markings. Every time I see one of those, the word chocolate does come to mind.
