| I paid $700 for an uncropped show prospect puppy in Mexico. Her litter was on the cheaper end because they came uncropped (and I was looking for an uncropped puppy, which is a big part of the reason I was interested in this litter). She came with her tail docked, dew claws done, vaccinated, dewormed, and with an export pedigree. Parents were health tested, plus I'm now waiting on copies of the x-rays so that I can register the parents' HD results on her import certificate (not sure if I will exchange her original pedigree just yet) now that we've moved overseas.
I'm currently on the look out for a new pup, and from the price range I've seen here in Europe, I estimate I will pay approx $1000-1800 USD. |

| i only paid the gas money for the 10 hour round trip to get mine. i found her on craigs list, she had been beaten, abused, starved, and used for breading so i hopped in my truck and drove up to get her. so yeah i payed less then $600 but she is the best healthiest dogs i have ever owned. |

| I paid $100 for Ginger when she was 14 months old. Her breeder bought her back from the owner because she was being abused and because of her age, no one wanted her. I paid $400.00 for her half-brother because the breeder was getting divorced and needed to get rid of the puppys fast. He was 4 months old. |

| I paid $395 for Rowan to someone who didn't want him anymore. He was already neutered and cropped so I think of the money as paying for those things. He was a day shy of 6 months. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App

| My neighbor didn't have the time to care for her new Dobie, so she gave her puppy to me. She paid $300 for her, it was from an older couple who had a litter. Both parents are Dobies, and the puppies had their tails docked, but were not health tested/registered. To be honest, the lack of registration doesn't bother me as much as the lack of health testing does. This was a unique situation ( the way we got her ), but if we buy a Dobie in the future, we're going to spend more money on the puppy - one that has been health tested. So far, our puppy is healthy, and hope it stays that way. |

| I paid $350, and he had dew claws removed and tail docked. I spent an additional $300 for ears. He is CKC registered. Obviously this was a BYB, which I now know better. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

| I am in Australia.
I recently bought Axel. He was health tested, with the results sent to me in the mail. He was micro chipped, he was vaccinated and wormed. He had his dew claws removed. He has his natural ears and tail. He came with a fantastic puppy pack which included advice toys, food and information. The breeder was brilliant. He was also registered.
I couldn't be happier. I spent $1200. I also paid another $200 to have him flow interstate to me.
I would happily do it again. Working with his breeder has been a brilliant experience and Axel is an awesome boy. |

| | ladyrougecayenne | How much did you pay for your dobie? I'm in south Texas and paid $700 for my female. She has her tail docked but no ears cropped and no health testing. She didn't even have her first shots. I got her at 5 weeks old. She is akc. I was reading up and it said a good breeder would not sale the puppies till they had their ears cropped and until they are 12 weeks old. She has been a wonderful puppy and is in good shape and very easily trained. I'm thinking about breeding her on her second heat. Sent from Petguide.com Free App |

As far as breeding her, please reconsider that. There are several threads on here about breeding, and what goes in to making someone a good breeder. Also, things can go terribly wrong, even when you do everything right. Zenyatta's Puppies, 9 days old.

| | ladyrougecayenne | How much did you pay for your dobie? Thanks for the advice. I used to breed mini weenies and I had three litters and where I live it was hard to sale them registered for $300. I will probably have her spayed so she has a healthier life and less chance of cancer. Loving every second I'm having with her. She has been a great dog so far and she is one of our kids in our family. If I would have known what great pets they were I would had gotten one years ago. Sent from Petguide.com Free App |

| Logans previous owner bought him from a breeder and paid $2800. I bought him off of his previous owner for 700 but thats only because i got a huge crate for him, every type of toy imaginable, his training collar, food, 2 huge suppliments, vitamins etc. list goes on and on. and his previous owner did extensive K-9 training with him which cost him i believe around 1400 bucks. he gave me all the paperwork he had on him and kept very detailed track of everything. |

| ^^^ YEAH i know right. my mouth nearly hit the floor. I didnt consider 700 a lot for him being as i got him at about a year old and he was already trained and his previous owner had been taking excellent care of him. He was quite spoiled even before i got him LOL. and plus all the stuff i would have had to go out and buy...it saved me actually in the long run i think.
But i reconsidered the whole buying from this breeder in the future after i learned what i did on this forum. Because i was considering a second...and my husband and i have been talking about it...but we wont go to where Logans previous owner got him. I am just glad that i have a great dog now. |

| Bruno was free on Craigslist. I was looking for a pit - a family dog that looked "scary" to keep people out. Came across Bruno and wasn't too keen but thought, hey, I'll go meet him. The bond was almost instant and I took him home. Couldn't ask for a better dog!
Bugs was also free, given to me by a family who had purchased her and her sister together from a BYB. They began to fight as they got older, and honestly I think the pure rambunctiousness of two doberteens was too much. She's psycho in a good way! She isn't as bonded to me as Bruno, but getting there.

| I just took in a one year old from Pinsch Of Heaven Doberman Rescue that will be an awesome family dog for $300 donation to Pinsch. (I'm a foster mom for this girl only.)
She's definitely an athlete, sleek body, with Greyhound attributes. I don't know how much the original owner paid for her, but ears are natural and this girl wouldn't be a candidate for conformation.
I've owned 2 rescue Dobes myself, they're awesome. My Khaleesi came from a very good breeder and I'm not going to list her prices here, but for the quality, health checks, and nice cropping, the price was very reasonable. And I will be showing and competing with her, so the research paid off for her.
But this beautiful one year old girl is a real find for anyone looking for an active, loving pet. And a real bargain at a 3 hundred dollar donation.
