With breed legislation and an already bad rep, dressing up as the very thing that causes the public to fear Dobermans is a REALLY BAD idea. It isn't funny if it's doing our breed damage or perpetuating sterotypes. | Well, No offense taken... I just think that people are going to believe what they want to either way, there is no changing their minds... My 3 year old nephew was chucky last year ( he picked it out himself ) no one thought he was a serial killer the next day. Everyone around the neighborhood knows my dog and since that is where we are going to be trick or treatin it should be a lot of fun. Again no offense taken......but I dont think of my dogs as being bad or having bad reps, theyre great dogs and everyone around us knows it. |

| | Apres Moi Le Deluge | I'm dressing my dobie up as Zero from the nightmare before Christmas. Partly because that's who he's named after and partly because it will be really easy because his ears will be taped lol. That's half the look!
Before he was Zero, I was going to get him one of these.... Dog Riders Headless Horseman Pet Costume - Costumes |

Its a halloween costume for gods sakes. The only way i could see this as a problem was if some idiot dressed his "agressive,Shy or Insecure" doberman up and let him around the general public. Now that would be a bad idea.
And as far as Resident Evil goes i somehow doubt a Poodle would have had the same effect.I mean its hollywood it isnt real and people who dont understand this have bigger problems then anybody here is gonna be able to fix. A large part of Fighting BSL is to get people to understand that there are no bad dog breeds. only a few individual bad dogs (Most likely perpetuated by bad owners) there are far to many People who dont agree with BSL, who have good dogs that unintentionaly become proponents of the very evil that effects so called agressive breeds We cant fight BSL by hiding behind a wall or keeping our good dogs behind 6' privacy fences we need to get them out in the public and educate. I can tell you for a fact my dogs will be the talk of town the morning after halloween, and not because they ate 15 children the night before. And my dogs are gonna make a Devil costume look like a Cinderella costume. So i say dress your trust worthy dogs up like a lady bug or a dragon or anything else you want and let them be a great ambassador to there breed. I really cant think of a better oppertunity. Just be mindfull of the fear imprint stages might be a bad idea for a pup during this period in there lives. and as far as scareing young kids go. my answer to that is a smurf costume can be scarey to a small child.

| Don't have plans this year, Holly, the senior, is way above this type of thing, and I am thinking of letting Sora go as herself, a truely terrifying cushion stealing, shoe stealing, jumpy uppy, table snarfing, tug-o-waring, schmooshy love muffin!
I found this online, and it will make you smile!

| Well.......I was going to dress Poseidon up as a mailman who got attacked by a dog (we have mailman costumes at PetSmart), but it turns out the largest size won't fit him! XL my butt! Maybe an XL Beagle!
So instead I think I'm going to take a clear plastic garbage bag, cut holes for the appropriate appendages, and fill it with small colored balloons. He can go as a bag of jellybeans!
I'm just not sure how to make it work with his boy parts. Don't want a bag of jellybeans and pee...
