| I guess I'm a tad confused as to why someone would start a thread on something they already know the answer to. If not, then please feel free to search the hundred plus threads that have been started on this very topic before.
Edit: Never mind. I seen where you just joined the forum today. Welcome. Please feel free to search, as there is lots of valuable information on this site that will answer questions such as this. Enjoy.

| I don't think an uncropped and undocked dobe makes it NOT a dobe. sorry, that is just not right. my dobe is cropped and docked, handsome and sleek and alert-looking as expected of a dobe, but if I ever do get another dobe, I would want it uncropped and undocked, all natural! |

| I know I started a thread like this some time ago when I was new, I guess it is the first subject that comes a long when it comes to dogs that are docked.
But as much as many say about the for for cropping their ears, I have been thinking about it as well whats for to keep them.
I know there has been saying that the sound as well get lower with the floppy ears, but the floppy ears must then in their behalf protect from bugs, air that should not come in, and sunlight and so forth.
I think it depends on how you look at it.
just my opinion.

| I personally like the look of cropped ears and docked tails. In fact when I first got Zeus his ears were natural and everyone commented on the pretty werimeriner that I had. I tried to explain to people that he was a dobie. (He is a blue.) When his ears were done no one questioned the fact that he was a dobie. |

Edit: Im sorry if what i said was mistaken but i think a uncropped doberman is still a doberman. I met someone who didnt C/D and the reason was so people didnt associate him with dobermans. That is a ridiculous reason not to C/D! Its the people who dont C/D that then want to force the choice by trying to ban the practice on others.

| If i got a doberman from a breeder who didn't crop, i wouldn't get them cropped. I think they are stunning either way!!

| I personally prefer the cropped and docked look and that's what my pup has but really, why the hate for the naturals? I doubt a doberman really cares whether it has a tail or doesn't or has cropped ears or doesn't.

| The poll should have an either is OK option
Maybe because mine are rescues and most likely always will be - I take them how they come - I love the look of a cropped dobe but I wouldn't choose against adopting because it has natural ears
