Help - I have a smelly treat pouch!

I have this treat pouch (which I love) but I can't get the smell of sour cheese out of it! I usually wash it out after every use, but I think one time I accidentally left some sliced string cheese in there for a day or two and its smelled nasty ever since. It reeks! I've tried washing it with warm water and dish soap, and even tried pouring Nature's Miracle in it to neutralize the odor but nothing works...

Any ideas?

Ops, I would try just sticking it into the washer and let it soak, then run it thru, with that oxy-clean stuff from costco. I've put lots of stuff in the washing machine with no ill-effects!

Or try the top shelf in a dishwasher-I've found that to be a good way to clean odd items that might get damaged in a regular washing machine.

Bummer, I don't have a dishwasher.. And you don't think the washing machine would hurt it? I don't want the little metal clasps to rust.

Maybe just soak it in oxyclean (that stuff works wonders) and then hand wash and dry the clasps well, perhaps oil them?

If you wash it in the washing machine and then take it out and dry off all the clasps right away and let the rest air dry you should be fine. I've done that with a few things that had metal and fabric and they all came out okay. Good luck!

Oxyclean is a powder you can add to anything. I throw a scoop in my laundry when I do wash. If it can get the smell of cat pee (*grumble* darn intact male cats) out of fabric, it should get your treat pouch clean. You'll find it in with laundry soaps and cleaning supplies usually...Wal-mart or the grocery store.
