| stepping on own poop?! Moony's all good and completely housebroken.
Problem is, when he poops outside, usually under a tree, he would sometimes (four times and counting..) STEP on his own poop after pooping! I try to pre-empt it by leading him away immediately after he poops, sit him, and then pick up his poop, but sometimes he steps on it before I could stop him. and it is stinko. I would have to shower him (and clean out his paws) after every unfortunate episode.
does your dobe do that? how do you get round this problem?! |

| Grace is so offended by poop she would never step in any, she has this look of disgusted indignation when I clean the yard, like where did that stuff come from. Now Rex, he doesn't care, but then he likes to play in mud and is quite the swimmer, not much bothers him.

| Ours won't be sensible, and just pick one spot, to make it easier to pick up after them, so even though I try to gather it all up, there's always one hiding somewhere. And they get all wild and crazy and race around chasing each other, and, of course, one or another will have to step in the pile that wasn't picked up....... Melody would be quite offended by that, and Alex would have wanted his feet washed, but the boys don't seem to care a fig about it, and just keep running. So it's up to us to figure out who has the stinky foots before we go back inside.... life is so full of wonderful little treasures. : ) wouldn't have it any other way!! |

| Bonnie has this wierd habbit of turning in circles when she poops i dont know why. She usually will walk forward and away. But not always!!!!! Then its the game of who has stinky foots like lolonurse said. I have to keep the yard as poop free as i can becouse they will just run right through it and not care (really grosssssss). It really doesnt happen too often plus im always watching them when there outside.

| I don't have that issue, but Poseidon will almost always pee on his front leg (he's more of a squatter unless he's marking). If he's not peeing on his leg, he just steps in the puddle afterwards.

| Sarge is very disgusted at his poop as well. He won't even pick up a tennis ball if it lands within 3 feet of poop. He stands there with one paw up as if to say "this is so disgusting, I can't believe it's even around me!" |

| | Alpha | Our girl will poo in one area of the yard if we are watching and telling her to go. It's kind of hilarious sometimes, pooping on command. Far from 100% tho, if we aren't watching, it's almost like spite, she will go in heavy traffic areas.
That's the closest we've come to keeping her from stepping in it.
It did take her awhile to get the idea that we want her to go in a certain spot, but when it works, it's well worth the effort. |
