This coming weekend are taking Petey on a camping trip. It is a family reunion at a State Park type camp ground. We are sleeping in a tent. Anyone who has taken their fur kids along on camping trips, I'd love a list of what we should take along so we *all* have a good time.

I already thought of two things that are important to have on hand:
Rabies Certificate
Number for an local E-Vet that is open 24 hours

Please share your lists, pictures and experiences.

Funny you should post! I am just getting ready for our camping weekend!!! I take along a good raw bone to keep the kids busy and a long line for walking/tying up, a rug to lie on, blankets, a rain coat, treats, extra collar.

Carol, My daughter takes her lab camping almost every weekend with her 4 kids. She says that a long tie-out is definitely on the list. She brings an extra collar, peroxide, food, treats, dog shampoo, bottle of tomato juice (just in case), her waterproof bed and a blanket, her food bowls, her doggie first aid kit, a huge bone, and a couple of toys. If near water, a life jacket, a microsoft towel, and a floating toy and tennis ball. Maybe his raincoat if you want. Have a great time and let us know how it went!

We have only taken our fur kids camping once and our tent trailer allows us to put both kennels in. Take lots of doggy bath wipes. They are invaluable.

Awwww, take lots of pictures. I know Petey is going to be a good boy and you guys will all have a blast. If I know Petey he will do many picture worthy things

Weve taken Ellie camping and she loved it, make sure you take lots of pics! It rained the whole time we were there though so i'd recommend loads of towels! Ellie was spoilt and had her own camp bed and sleeping bag! A stake and long tie out, think most things have already been said umm..loads of poop bags! Lots of blankets incase it gets cold overnight and i'd definately take kongs and bones to keep him amused! Hope you have a fantastic time i've added some pics of Ellie from when we went camping

CAMERA! definitely!

lexx camped with us when he was 12 weeks old, best time ever for him, outside all day, got to sleep out of his crate, we brought a dog bed, but woke up with an upside down doberpup wedged between us on the air mattress.

Bring lots of towels and warm stuff, it gets cold at night. and HAVE FUN!
