| Backyard OB, Agility and Wubba photo dump I've had a busy morning. First I had to mow the weeds in the back yard so it didn't look too awful for the pics I was planning on taking for you all
Then I had to make 2 jumps - one is 20" the other is 24".
After all that we started our fun morning together with a little OB to get her focused on me.
I'm really trying to work on eye contact:
I LOVE the look on her face in this one:
Then a down stay, notice her pretty new Lupine 1" martingale collar:
Weave poles came next - remember we just started these yesterday:
She LOVES jumping!
This first one is the 24"
20"
After all that it was time to relax with the best (albeit most annoying) toy in the world!
She is now crashed on the couch - a tired Dobe is a good Dobe
I hadn't thought of it while we were playing this morning- but after looking at the pictures I think it's probably pretty important for me to work her from both sides. In all the jump pics she's angled to her right because that's where I am... Will work on that in the weeks to come.
Hope you all enjoy

| Awesome! Great attention. Your equipment is wonderful. I can`t believe you made it in such a short time.
When doing weaves remember she always enters on her left. You, however can be on both sides. Just in case you decide to compete and yes she does jump high. I saw a bumper sticker that said, “I love dogs and I vote.”
I want one that says “ I vote for dogs.” Anon |

I think the Wubba will be a lot greater when the squeaker finally dies! BUT she does love it Quote:

Just in case you decide to compete and yes she does jump high. | I was unsure of the proper entrance point for the weaves - so yesterday I watched about a million clips on YouTube and learned the dogs left shoulder goes to the right side of the pole - which is good 'cause that's how I started her
The jumps took maybe 30 minutes to make! I thought I was going to wait until I ordered the cups and they got here so I could make them adjustable but I just couldn't wait. I didn't glue the jumps together though - they are sturdy enough to stand and take a little bump but easily break apart if she runs into them or lands on them - I think I'm going to leave them that way to help avoid injury.
I have the bottom bar set at 8" so I can take the top bars off and use the bottom to train Petri

| Good job on the jumps, Tracy Jo! I think you've found a new fun sport for you and your girl!
I was once raving about flower boxes Richard had built for me one day, and someone thought I meant for my house...NO, for my horse! We built the cutest little flower and lattice boxes with leftover wood we had lying around.
Can it possible be hotter in TX than Okinawa? I have to get out early to run or work the dogs here in Georgia as the heat/humidity kicks in with a vengeance by about 9:30a.m. and you can't train outside after that. I alternate riding my horse (LeakyB) one day, run the dogs the following day. I've lost 5 pounds on this program since I am sweating every day! |

It's so funny that you mention that Ellen - The whole time I was making these jumps this morning I was thinking "heck, if I can make 'em for a dog, I can make for my (eventual) horse!".
It IS hotter here than on Okinawa BUT there is not nearly as much humidity here as there is on Oki. There it was close to 100% year round - here on the other hand is 25% on a bad day. No humidity makes a huge difference.
Normally we're in by 830-900 at the latest in the morning but we had a big storm come through last night and it really cooled things down - we were able to stay active out til almost 1030! I can't wait til fall

| Very nice!!! You might try some of that 'playground' grass seed for the lawn before winter. I've had good luck with it in heavy traffic areas in my yard.
