would either of you be willing to post pictures of your dobermans toes? I just took some of Roxys. Please...no comments about the nails; I know they are way too long (i'm learning how to use the dremel and had one heck of a work week and missed her usual "nail day")

So is it just me, or does it look like Roxy has webbed feet? Our other dog (lab/chow mix); her toes are definitely separated. Any input is greatly appreciated...

My pups feet look the exact same way...totally normal!!! There is definite flap in there, but not all the way down to the tip of the claw. Im no expert but they look good to me.

Yep Dobes do have webbed feet - helps them swim. Looking at Lexx's the web is about 1-1/2 inches long.

as far as dogs feet are concerned in general take a look here Dog Owner's Guide: Canine feet although it doesn't list Dobes as having webbed feet as it just gives an overview.

Hi Doberdog - I thought I rememberd you posting about trying out a dremel for your dogs, but I can't find the post. Anyhow, if it was you, I highly recommend following the exact steps that are on the website (DoberDawn.com). I'm pretty sure someone had posted that already, but I added it again just in case. I can't tell you how many times I read that before I even bought the dremel - I was very skeptical and I did NOT believe that I would EVER be even remotely sucessful with Roxy's nails. I was proven wrong. I did pretty much everything that was suggested on that site and when I get the dremel out, Roxy follows me to where I go sit down, and actually lays pretty still through the whole thing. I'm still shocked everytime that I do it...I keep thinking she'll realize that nails-day isn't that much fun! She gets yummy little treats through the whole thing. Depending on how relaxed she is - that determines how often I give her extra treats. But then she gets one super-yummy big treat at the end. The biggest thing to remember is patience. Good luck!

This topic really freaked me out! My baby boy has webbed feet, and we though its ok, but my partner took him to them vet for a reg check up and he said he is a mutant and for dobes its not normal…
sO I thought/think - I can not take him to the show if I will want or have tome for it..

I guess some of those breeds that make a Doberman had an influence in webbed feet - like a hunting breed and (if it is there at all) a labrador.

Can't wait to check him out swimming in summer

Looks normal to me and the judges don't look at the feet in detail except to see if they are thick-padded and tight (nails need to be short to emphasize that look).

Looks ok to me. Judges have never inspected Envys feet. Someone can correct me if I am wrong but as far as I know cropped dogs cant be shown in any shows in the UK that are held under the kennel club rules and regulations.

Yes, of course they can not be shown her in UK. That's why I am not sure if I will have physical time to take him to other country to show or not .. (its very difficult to transport dogs out and in to UK unfortunately)

No problem, Im not over sensitive !

He is very good.. most of the time haha. I will take him to puppy classes soon, then planning more serious training. me and my partner struggle sometimes… he is still hell on a lead.

But we don't complain, he is smart boy we need more patience.
