| PIC, I got my new girl. She is home.
Here she is! Peaches. This is a few minutes after we met. She rode for over 5 hours with out making a peep. Never peed till this morning.
I think she is still in heat but have never had a dog in heat so I'm not sure. Her nipples are protruding and her vagina looks big. When Q sniffed back there, he starting drooling with his teeth hitting together. Don't worry, he is fixed. I'm calling the vet in a moment to make an appointment for her for a check up and another to be fixed. Do they have to go out of heat before getting fixed?
She had thousands of fleas, her coat is extreamly rough, she does not know her name or any command, BUT, she is soooooo sweet. I can already do anything to her. We got home about 10:30pm last night and I took her straight to the tub. She then had the real meeting with Q and Maggie. She gets on with Maggie fine, but Q is really rude. First let me say, I know it will be ok with a little time. Now, let me say, she is putting him in his place. She takes no crap AT ALL from him. If he is sniffing and licking her ear, fine with her. He gets rude, she turns into a demon and backs him across the room at top speed. I'm sorry but it is a little humerous, him at probably 105lbs, her at about 45. She is making him behave in ways that I never could. I have heard some of you say the male dobe will always let a female dobe control him. Well she sure is so far. He is barking loudly about it but still does what she wants. When they have more time to work it out, it will be fine. But by the time she got her bath, they met and then I fed her some, it was midnight. I had to get up at 6am for work and it all started over again but we only had about 1.5 hours again. Last night at about 2am, my husband came to take them all out before he went to bed, when he opened the crate to let her out, she ran and jumped in bed with me and snuggled by my head. It was so sweet. She is so sweet.
I will take more pictures of them all interacting tonight. Please, any advice on how to make her and Q get along would be taken very seriously. I just want to do what is best for them. The lady I got her from said, don't inturrupt, they will work it out. But should I not at least scold her verbally when she growls at him, if he is not being rude YET? |

| Congrats on your beautiful red girl! How old is she? I am glad you have her now! I would wait until she is completely off her heat before spaying her, but that is just my opinion. Have fun with her! |

| Peaches is so adorable!! BIG congrats!
Q and Peaches will work it out.. it's fine that she is correcting his rude behavior. As long as she is not growling or attacking him for no reason, let her 'reprimand' him.
I think you need to wait between heats to spay.

| Awesome i'm so excited for you, Peaches, and Q. I have introduced lot's of dogs while fostering and no two situations are ever the same. I'm not there to see how they are reacting but it's sounds normal to me. Only allow them to interact while supervised and don't overdue it. Also even if they are doing fine together in a couple of days keep them under supervision and seperated when not around. I always follow this routine for at least a month no matter how well they get along especially when the new dog isn't trained and doesn't know that you are the leader of the pack. I would start teaching Peaches N.I.L.F so she realizes you as the pack leader and looks to you for direction. I can't wait to see more pics. |

| She has the sweetest face! Yes, she should come out of season before you spay her. Since Q is fixed it shouldn't be too much bother. Just keep her safely away from all other males. Probably a big part of him bugging her and her being so ticked about it is because she is in season. That will definitely make the boys try their hardest to impress her and definitely make her more bitchy about it.

| She is doing a little growling for no reason also. If she is on the couch and he comes up to me, she will show her teeth and growl at him and almost lunge. I do correct her when she does this. I scold her verbally, then no attention for a few minutes. I also have lay on the other side of me on the couch to show her that he is mine also. I think she is already trying to guard me to some extent? |

| If it were me...personally I wouldn't allow her on the couch, at least not yet. IMO she has no business claiming furniture and you on it and guarding it from other family members.
