| | Alpha | Dobe's NATURAL ears=radiators? I just came across this random comment somewhere on the web: any truth to this?
"She needed, and got lots of exercise, running up to thirty or forty miles a day. For that reason, I would never crop their ears, as that is their main radiator and a Doberman with cropped ears has only a fraction of the stamina of their true potential."

| I dont know but that seems unlikely to have any large effect. A dog cools itself by breathing, panting.... I can see the dissipation of heat occurring in the ear with the amount of blood vessels but as a central radiator, the tongue serves that function. Hey but Im no expert.

| Desert foxes use their ears to cool themselves. I doubt a domesticated dog does, especially if the ears are not erect. Lightly put that person is wrong... If anything natural ears will insulate a dobe's head |

That's a lot of running! |
