Suggestions to entertain Rosco?

I'm trying my best to keep Costco occupied since sitting around all the time has to be pretty boring for him (and that's all he's allowed to do for the next couple months ). I've been giving him rawhide chews and nylabones but I'm looking for suggestions on other things I could make (cook?) or give to him so he isn't bored. I would like some healthy alternatives too... I've tried PB kongs and he seemed uninterested. He isn't really big into stuffies or other toys unless he gets excited-- when I get home etc. I'm planning on making a butcher run to pick up some marrow bones to freeze. Still open to suggestions if there is anything I could cook (although I'm a lousy baker) for him. I was thinking maybe there is a doggy jerky recipe out there somewhere (?) Oh, no dairy products too... it interferes with the doxycycline. Thanks!

Bully stucks are entertaining. There was a recipe on here for puppy ice cream - hummm. . . I need to find that too. Good luck - it must be hard keeping him quiet. He is very handsome though. Great pictures.

Wow - you are going to have your hands full! Buster cubes are cool to entertain. Bella will spend a good hour getting out all the treats. I mix a couple of high value ones (dried liver) with kibble and that keeps her going - it's like a human playing the slots! He is a great looking Doberman! I'm glad he's on the mend.

Thats gotta be hard for him and you...good luck.
He's a handsome boy, is he blue?
If he is his coat looks great, not that it doesnt for a black lol

I'm sorry....I'm out of the loop. Why can't he do anything for 2 months? I hope he's okay.

Thanks for asking, I should have elaborated a little anyways.
He is being treated for heartworms and needs to be basically confined for the next two months to avoid increasing his heart rate. He starts with his first adulticide treatment sometime in the next two weeks (if the chest inflammation has subsided). I will know on Thursday via radiograph if he is ready for the first injection.

I agree Thea.

Sorry, I dont have much "inside" advice for entertainment. But, he looks really good and is lucky to be in your care. I am sending positive thoughts and wishes your way for a safe treatment and recovery.

I don't know if it's a nickname for Rosco but do you realize you called him "Costco" in your first sentence? lol

I read it the other day and thought it was a his name. I thought to myself "Why on earth would someone name their dog Costco". I was just browsing the board and saw his name was actually Rosco.......

Anyway just thought it was funny assuming it was unintentional for you to call him Costco. lol
