Just need to vent - no need to read...

Gah! Why is my husband so incompetent?! For the second day in a row, I have come home to find Tucker bleeding, and him totally unaware. WTF? How hard is it to pay attention?! Now, Tucker has a small notch (maybe 1-2 mm) out of one of his ears, and I can't suture it because hubby has no idea when it happend. Yesterday, Tucker had a laceration on his face.

I'm so frustrated with the ears and with my husband's inability to pay attention/supervise/be observant. I know I won't be this mad tomorrow, but for right now, I'm pretty peeved.

Tucker's ears aren't as rigid as I would like, so he went back to posts. Now he has a hematoma where the bite wound was, and the other ear is inflamed - not sure if it's brewing a hematoma too...I'm about ready to give up on both the ears and my husband's ability to effectively puppy-sit. Both have been nothing but never-ending work.

It doesn't help that I put in a 13-hour day at the hospital, and now have to do 5 pages of paperwork, plus finish my senior paper tonight...

Smack the hubby! Take a bite out of his ear! LOL! You must be exhausted, an awful lot for you to do in addition to working such long hours. You're a saint. I can only imagine how chilly it must be at your house right now...Brrrr, can he feel it?

Honey do not think men know how to be observant. know mine is not or my sister's hubby. The book Men are from Mars & Women are from Venus is very true. Its a wonder we as a species have made it this many years Men think different from Women & Women think different from Men. Try not to get your Blood pressure up too high, deep breathe allot. Most women are in the same boat you are not alone.Hugs to you.

I agree, men usually don't have a clue. I once got a phone call while I was away saying that there was blood on the kitchen floor. So he checked the kids none where bleeding so all was okay..right? Wrong, when I got home 2 days later, here our 7 mo old pup went into heat. He didn't know what to do!!!!!

i think its more whoever feels closer to the dog, has more concern about its wellbeing and therefore a more watchful eye. me and my girlfriend got calvin together, but she knows hes mine, and sometimes when shes watching him i cant believe what he gets away with and how little she checks on him. im like "AHHH hes a puppy, he must be watched at ALL TIMES!!"

just thought ide throw that out there thats its not just a male thing

Have to agree goathawg, calvin looks great! He has so much expression in his face and looks like a really cheeky chappy!

My ex (who i was with when I got Bruce) used to be useless with Bruce - he didn't really have the inclination or energy to care for a puppy. I'm really lucky though because my new boyfriend (well we've been together a year now so not THAT new!) absolutely dotes on Bruce... sometimes I think Bruce is more Alex's dog than he is mine now lol! and of course bruce laps up the attention.

i think it just depends on the person, not necessarily a 'male vs female' thing!

Berkshire - hope Tucker's doing better now and i'm sure your husband's sorry lol! Good luck getting all your work done - sounds like you're even busier than me! All i will say is have a nice cup of tea and put your feet up for 10 mins now and again. It's the solution to all of life's problems here in England lol!
