lol. why don't we all become polygamous and live together in one super giant large farm house, together with our dobes? we clean up for each other, cook, walk and play with dobes, all together. all of us here could dump our respective partners and live happily ever after in doberman land.

Even when I call him a couple of times throughout the day to REMIND him to make sure Bailey has food and water on her stand he STILL doesn't do it. If the dogs water bowl is empty it goes unnoticed and will stay that way. I really worried when I went to a dog show a few hours away and left him in charge for the whole WEEKEND. I called and reminded him over and over again to make sure the birds had food and water and that the dogs water bowl(s) were full. Of course when I got home Sunday night the cockatiels hadn't been fed or watered AT ALL all weekend, Bailey had no food and no water on her stand that she had been on all day, and the dogs water bowl was bone dry. I could go on and on, but you get the gist of it.
.
That sounds really bad. I would hire a pet sitter to come in twice a day or something to make sure all the animals needs are taken care of and they always have fresh water and get their daily meals, etc. Geez.

Sorry to hear this Berkshire. That would be very frustrating It seems you are not alone by any means.

After reading this thread I am even more thankful, my husband is WONDERFUL with the dogs, I mean really really great. On the two days a week I am gone all day until later at night when I get home the dogs have already been let out, played, been walked/ran/or biked, fed, and if they have any issues, like one has a cut toe right now, the sore has been flushed out, cleaned, antibiotic, and taped up, poo in the yard picked up. I never worry when they are with him. And he alternates with me on being home for lunch so the dogs are never alone for too long. He also does great with the reptiles. Right now we are home making another cage for one. When I say we, I mean him Now he will not clean out the litter box, I don't blame him, I don't want to either. It is really nasty and the main reason why we will never have another cat (this is our first and only cat).
I could go on and on about this man as he is a wonderful person all around in so many ways, but I just want to let people know not all guys should be stereotyped when it comes to proper animal care!

My husband is very good at feeding and water the animals, but he does not harp on what they are doing as much as me. He will just let Q right out with out his electric collar on and go back to bed. He responds to me with "he's not going anywhere honey". He loves them as much as me and cares for their physical needs but I have to notice anything wrong and I'm the one to be careful.
