Rexx's (6 mos) is more prominent than Java's (3 yrs), and he def has the larger male skull. I think that bump is where the selective hearing gland is housed.......

I had the same issue with my female, my vet assured me that it was normal during growth (I did not have this issue with my male) and that the size may change. Some have bigger dope bumps, as I call it, then others. My female is now 7 months old and it seems normal for her size but for awhile there I thought her head was going to explode.

Seriously, though, could you post a photo to show what you mean? One person's "large bump" is another person's extra ear so it's hard to get an idea of it without seeing what you mean.

-click 'Browse' and find your file(s), then click 'Upload'
-filename(s) should show up on that 'Manage Attachments' page, right-click on the filename and select 'Copy Link Location'
-now go to your post entry and click 'Insert Image' (the yellow square envelope icon above the area where you type your message (a pop up should appear), click <ctrl-v> for the filename's location to be pasted

when I first met moonshine, he was about five months old and his bump was quite prominent and, for lack of better word, bumpy, lol. but he's now over eight months and his bump has gone down somewhat! it seems like a normal smooth head now. I think that most dobes grow out of those bumps.
