Thanks for the information on the dog cooler coats. It has been so very hot this summer in PA and was glad to find something so we can get out for our exercise. Even in the morning and early evening its uncomfortable. Anyway, was ready to "bite the bullet" and get a Kool Koat but I did another search yesterday before I ordered one and saw the Swampcooler. The price was right and I liked the look of it. Can't wait until it arrives. Neither can Baron! The money I saved, I am going to order him a Paco collar. My husband has always wanted some sort of studded leather collar for our Dobes over the years but never found one that wasn't tacky looking. Now just have to decide which Paco design. Thanks again. I subscribe to the TrailDog list serve, and there was a series of posts about the Swamp Cooler recently. Apparently, it's great for dry and moderately humid environments, but a couple of people from very humid environments said it didn't do as well. But they were quite literally in the swamp. Evaporative cooling doesn't work so well there. But RuffWear is based in OR, so it makes sense out here on the West Coast. I can't wait to get one for Tucker next summer when he's done growing.
I'm glad you like it! I'm in love with mine - it's great, infinitely better than any other cooling coat I've seen.
