| | Big Dog | Doberman Dramatic Society I thought about posting it in the puppy section, but I was wondering if the dramatics go on past puppyhood.
My 6 month old just seems to get more dramatic when he wants something and is frustrated. He just vocalized and acts like it is the end of the world just because something doesn't go his way. It is quite funny. I've never had a pup that vocalizes his frustration as much and as dramatic as he does.
I do think I named him correctly... Serenade... he's just a bit off key somedays.

| Our boy Jack was very vocal when things weren't up to his standard. If I laughed at him, he would get more vocal and start a kind of play bow with a nub in the air and get louder and louder. I would give him the "time out" command and he would go sit in his crate. It was the funniest thing to have him put himself on time out. Easier than putting my nephew on time out. |

| It totally does last past puppyhood, the dramatics.
Ask me how I know.

| They say be careful what you name your dog as he will live up to his name...
Seems to be true in your case!!

| | Big Dog | Yes, I suppose he does live up to his name. So, I guess he is in the running for president of the DDS?
...unless RedFawnRising has a much better story...

| Yeah Sebastian would whine-sing, one of the funniest dog behaviors I have ever seen. Well, for a minute or two anyway. Ive since learned that the spray bottle is not the best thing to use on your dog but that is how I got him to stop.
Now he just grunt-growls or silent barks at me, lol. |

| Whine-singing, yes, that is a good term for it! I like it.
I'm going to have to see some proof, before Ezra gives up the top DDS spot.
Too bad I can't do video, or you'd get to share in the dramatic woe-is-me sighs, the blood curdling screams as the nail clippers approach his delicate toesies, the whine-singing because his sister has the better of the same two identical bones.
Oh, and the best is, when we're out working in public, and I ask him to settle and he throws his head straight up in the air (think coyote howling at the moon), gives big sad golden eyes at the room, and then FLINGS himself over on his side hard enough to knock the breath out of himself.

He does make these dramatic grumblings, groans and extremely sad looks. He does bang against his crate when he wants to be let out but doesn't have to go potty. Of course then comes the big sigh...
Hm... with that last example we might have to give up presidential position, but I bet we might get away with vice-pres (or at least an officer position)? lol (had to put this in since I thought it was so cute!)
