fencing

so I have been running around trying to figure out how the heck I can get a fence to fit-work on our land. It really is a fencing nightmare! my husband and I have thought about fencing the entire property.but that will take plenty of cash lol! we have fence along the east side already. so a plan for the south would be to fence from the east fence to the pond?

for the west from the pond to the house?

logic would tell ya to fence around the pond....except it is HUGE more like a small lake.to fence up on the hill would be tough also......since it is a very small area with more little hills and rock walls......the drop off to the pond is a good 20 feet down a steep drop off......and what of the water?

I was thinking run the fence right into the water? the level of the pond changes with the seasons.....some months the fence will be under water........and others it will be out! I just dont see a good option. the only flat area around our property is on the outside edges.....since this is a old gravel pit. but we are talking 30+ acres of gravel pit lol!

What are the primary objectives for your fence? To keep the dog in and critters out? Im assuming you are going to use chainlink?

I am thinking horse fence......my goal is to have a area to put zeus out without haveing to watch him 100%.....right now he only goes out with me....or sometimes I put him on a trolly tie when I cant watch him.the goal is to give him more freedom.....but I just dont see a good way to fence! it is so uneven with steep slopes and....well it is a nightmare

Sidech will become famous soon enough
Why don't you have a professionnal come in and give you advice, along with some pricing ? They usually do that for free, because they're hoping you'll buy from them, so at least you'd know how much you're in for and what the options are.

rotfl!!!! we are do it yourself folks.we built our home from the ground up on our own ....even cut the trees for some lumber.my husband would never pay anyone to put up a fence....and I doubt he would want them back here even just to look .

my other option is to go north with the fence......here is another Idea.maybe go from the east fence across the drive....add a gate then head west and then back to the house? or just come up along the drive and then back to the house?

I am thinking haveing to open a gate every time we drive in might be a pain? anyone else have to enter a drive though gate to get it? if you do how has it worked for you?

hmmmmm I am thinking the north is the way to go......maybe run this section for the south

then run the plan for the north by going from the east fence across with a gate.......then back to the house.

I like this idea!! It would work. and relatively flat.

Re: the gate - maybe a powered gate? issue of running power down there, but otherwise, maybe a good compromise to have a gate and open place for doggy.

your last concept looks better and will be more manageable it seems. And I horse fence would be easier and look good.
