| Ears again! As some of you know I have been fighting with one weak ear for a while now. Reggie can hold it up with no problem now, but when he is relaxed or sleeping it will fall out to the side. At 16 months do you think continuing to tape/prop the ear will do any good, or is it just futility?
Ear Up
Ear down
I am glad it is strong enough that he can hold it up, but it is not "set" in position.

| Plz? Anyone? I know it's a tough call. Frankly I am lucky it stands when it does. I'm going to guess keep taping since it's come this far? There was a time it wouldn't do a darn thing.

| I dunno, they look ok to me.. I'd say if he can adequately perk them up when focused on something, and they both stand, then you're probably good. |

| Ugh, it's just when that one flops over it drives me nuts! Here's my gorgeous dog with one lazy ear. But yeah, he can hold it up.. for an entire show even. I don't understand it.

| I have to say that I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to ears and I don't see anything wrong with Reggie's. It may just be the picture, but I think his ears look great! |

| It does fall though. If he sleeps wrong it can fall all the way down. They do look fine when they are up, it's just one doesn't want to stay that way.

| | Big Dog | I had this problem with a dog in the past but he was a few moths younger (12 to 12 months I think) I kept taping it and after a while it was OK. |

I have started him on K9 super fuel and showstopper, hopefully it will strengthen the cartilage in his ears. I'm going to keep taping the weak one.

| one of my guys has a 'lazy' ear too. I finally told his owner to just leave it alone. He is two years old now and the ear is a bit stronger but it does flop a little when he runs. and at rest it does tip out more than the other. But when alert you cannot see a difference betwen them. Not much help hey. lol.
One bitch I owned had very heavy ears, I taped her for over a year, then gave up. It always flopped around and sometimes it fell half way. When she turned 4 years of age, that damn ear stood up and never went down again. GO FIGURE! |

| | Big Dog | The other night when I was reading on here I came across a post talking about a pup with a lazy ear and the owner had to put them on some kind of supplement and it fixed the ear! I cannot find it now to save my life (sorry about that). I think it was either in th epuppy section or possibly the health section. They mentioned the supplement must have made the cartilage. |
