I'm curious on how many people can bring their dog to work with them??? I have been lucky and can bring my pups to work with me and it has been such a great help with their socialization. I would love to have everyone share their photos and stories of their dogs with them at work! I have my pups out in public from the time they come home so they are use to all different kinds of people, sounds and smells. I also do the same with my foster dogs once I evaluate them, so when they go to their forever homes they can go anywhere with their new families.

How may I help you????

That picture is fantastic! I would visit that store just to see your dog. I don't work so I am lucky to be home with the "kids" all day. I think that's why Ruger is so attached to me which upsets his daddy :lol2: I am taking him out anywhere dogs are allowed I want him to be as socialized as possible and he goes to daycare three times a week.

I so wish I could stay home with my kids it breaks my heart to leave them at home. So I choose days they can come to work with me, so they are not always left behind. Mine also go to any stores that allow dogs and Remington loves doggie daycare!! I love it too because for once I got a tired Dobe!!

My current job enforces the "service dogs only" rule, but I'm allowed to take the mutts over to see my manager who mushes over them while on smoke break. He lost his dog very tragically and the muttfaces help him heal.

I'm looking into working at a vet clinic (cleaning!) or a pet store coming up, so I'd be able to take any of my animals there.

Love that pic, I agree...I would come to your store just to see that cute face:)

All of my dogs come to work with me frequently. They were raised between my work and my husband's store, so all of the dogs have had some great socialization! I actually have clients ask where the doberman is when they don't see him with me lol. They even have their own corner and big comforter where they stay while I am busy...otherwise they have free run of the place.

These last 2 are of my previous dobie who joined me at work also...

I work in a little pet food store currently, and my dogs are allowed to come to work. I don't bring the Dobermans often, because I take the C-train and city bus to work and they're hard to squeeze on in rush hour, but they've both been a few times. Neither one seem to enjoy it very much though. Ripley inparticular didn't enjoy all the strange dogs coming in and out and people leaning over the gate to try and pet him. He's aloof to those he doesn't know and while friendly, prefers to observe. They didn't mind it, but they didn't enjoy it enough for me to make a point of regularly bringing them. I brought Journey (my Aussie puppy) to work from Dec-mid April every single day though. It was an awesome opportunity to raise a puppy without worrying about her being left home alone, and there were definitely some good exposure and socialization opportunities. I don't bring her all the time anymore because she's 7 1/2 months old and capable of staying home during the day now, and I have some very rude canine customers that I didn't want her around for fear of her safety and it felt awkward of me to tell the people to watch their dogs, so in order to just avoid it all, she stays home most of the time now. And adapted perfectly fine. She did enjoy being at the store though. She loved all of the people and just hanging out and wasn't yet bothered by the dogs. Dance never comes to work because she's people shy and that would just be too stressful for her. I brought her once just to see and I felt bad for her. Would be better if I had a better area set up to keep the dogs in, but it's very small.

But, eventhough my dogs don't always come to work, it is certainly nice to have the option!

Here are a few photos of Keira and Journey at work in the past. I didn't get any of the other two.

I would take them to work with me except that I am on the road when Im working and not in my own vehicle so it would be hard for them to go with me. I do however take them to visit daddy at the dealership from time to time and they are a huge hit there. Everyone loves to see them and they are always so good. Though I did get a couple funny looks from customers walking into the showroom when they saw two big dobermans roaming around lol

I'm in school so I don't work but my mom does. Her bosses run their business out of their house so my mom can bring in however many dogs she wants. :) They actually own Avril's brother, Jordan's (owned by Marieldobes) sister, and an abandoned Aussie puppy that we fostered.

My mom doesn't normally bring dogs with her just because I'm only gone for a max of 3 hours a day now and my brothers home all the time. But if we are both gone all day she will take the puppies and the pitbull.

I manage a pet store, and due to liability issues no one can bring their pets to work during a shift except the boss. Years ago an employee brought their lab puppy in, it was in a crate, and a lady sat on the crate. The puppy mouthed her fingers, which startled the lady and she pulled her fingers out. This caused one of the puppy's teeth to break the skin. The lady sued the boss $$$.

So, chase can only come in when I'm opening the store, or closing the store (doors locked) or if I'm not on a shift. I take full advantage of that :)

How may I help you ladies?

Roxy comes to work with me 4 days a week. I am lucky to have my own office in an industrial unit...and its nice to have the security since the office is fairly isolated.
This is a pic of her and my son at the office one day when he wasn't feeling very well, so he missed school to come cuddle with Roxy on her bed.
She thought he was an extra pillow, I think :D

I used to be able to take Malia at a previous job. It was great! She came from a problematic past and it really helped socialize her. The only down side (at that job at the time) was having a fairly large customer base that had a fear of dogs. We had many customers that would not come in to the shop, or get out of the car on the days Malia was roaming the lot.

Before I moved for graduate school I worked at a doggie daycare/boarding/vet facility and I would bring Dreizehn all of the time and he absolutely loved it. It was fantastic for socialization and tired him out so much.

Then I moved. I work now at my university and cannot really bring the dogs with me there (though once Ruthie starts Therapets training my boss said that I could bring her to a class or two). I also work at a barn and can bring my dogs to that job. It's harder with Dreizehn because the barn dogs wander and he's not super reliable off leash (he loves "playing" with the horses). However, Ruthie comes with me all the time if I'm not riding and seems to really enjoy it.

Richter is allowed, but has only been for short visits, not when I'm actually working. He still occasionally throws a temper tantrum in his crate, and I can't let him do that here :) I'm hoping during the summer when it's very quiet here on Friday afternoons we can start working on it. I work in a church, so it's a good place for socialization. I just need him to be quiet when I leave my office :D

All my dogs are allowed to come to work with me :) I even bring my ferrets from time to time (in their play pen of course) I work at a dog food/sluppy/grooming shop. I don't really bring tiny weeny much as he doesn't really like men. My oldest poodle, cepillin, loves it! I have people asking for him.. I bring my dobi, Apollo, once in a while (many people in my area hate pitbulls, rotties, dobies because they think they are heartless killers.....) so whenever someone comes in and I notice they are freaked out with Apollo I just baby gate him behind the desk. Or sometimes stupid people with people/dog aggressive dogs come in and me and my dogs stay behind the desk and call the mall security :) the mall doesn't allow dogs like that (to many people, kids, dogs walking around in the mall) There was a man that came in a few times with a gsd/masstiff that didn't like people and would lunge out at everyone, guy had no control, etc. Was really pissed off when he got asked to leave the mall.
