Ginger and Sampson will each get a treat/bone/hide whatever. It seems Samspon needs to have whatever Ginger has. She gives it up with no fight and then complains loudly when he has both. I have tried having them in different rooms, one in a crate, I mean everything. They will only enjoy them if they are fighting over them. I know Ginger gets the short end every time because for
1: She is a fatty. ( I know, we are working on it. It happened over winter)
2: She is the gentle, lovey of the two
3: I think she gives up the prize just to "B*tch" about it, because when we give it back to her, she doesn't want it. sigh doberbrats are so hard to figure out.
Then there are other times where she is just enjoying an older bone and Sampson takes it. THAT makes her react. I never know when it is the I really don't care, or the, dammit, that is mine! moment. How do you deal with a "I will eat everything now" dog and a I like to savor it for awhile dog?

I got no advice for you, my Bella will let Nexus take whatever she has, and move on to something else without a fuss. Sometimes she will tempt Nexus with whatever she has chosen, going to lay right next to her and then Nexus is like "oh .. is that better than this? I must have that then" and take it so Bella gets back the original bone or toy. and THAT is hilarious to watch.

Kip and Capri play this "game".
Kip is SURE that the chew Capri has is the best one, so he will sit and whine as he watches her chew, ignoring his own treat.
So she eats hers, and then calmly gets up and steals his too.

It is a little like what you describe and very annoying.
