I decided that I was going to shoot in fully RAW mode today and I don't know if I'm just not getting it or what but I'm not a fan. I was so excited for these pictures and thought shooting in RAW would give me a better editing advantage but honestly I'm not happy with how they turned out. I think maybe I just don't fully understand how to edit in RAW.
Here's some examples after editing. They just don't seem right to me but maybe I'm over thinking it. I'm really bummed. I don't like any of the ones of Diesel that I took I guess I'll have to try again later this week.
Wow! If you think these pictures are awful then mine must be horrible! I think you got some great shots. I really like the last one! The sleek, shiny black fur with the muscle ripples that are darker. Absolutely gorgeous girl! I also love the third from the end one. The close up on that sweet face! I just want to eat her!
Aw thank you I think I was just shocked by how much I had to lighten them when it was a sunny day. I'm particularly hard on myself though too.
The last picture is of my boy Diesel He's really started to pack on the muscle and I love that shot of him. It's one of the only ones I actually liked from today.
I agree with you on Rogue! She's such a sweetie. She pulls you in with the eyes haha
I don't think that the change is file format. It could be that you just had a "bad camera day" - I think everybody has them. Plus, it's hard to get good pictures of black dogs in bright sunlight. Don't give up on RAW yet.
