Whining like a baby?

Gideon is extremely vocal. I even have a video of him crying "Momma." He does this when he wants my attention and I continue to ignore him. He whines to go out, come in, or get food. He protests with grunts and moans. Is this something that will never calm down? Surely he is out of the puppy stage?

Boss is also an extremely vocal boy, and he also has MAMA down pat but he is talking to my husband when he says it lol. In my experience.... they do not outgrow it they just learn more ways to use the vocalizations. When he wants to eat he will look us straight in the eye , give exactly 2 barks and do a very exaggerated huge lick and rise his un cropped ears straight out to the sides and tilt his head until we get up to get his food.... and he does this twice a day at 5 minutes to his meal time. My girl Mimi is also very vocal but she only howls and makes a noise that sounds remarkably like a seal.... I love the talking Dobies!

Hades turned 2 in January and he whines. When he's bored, when he wants attention, etc.

Have you tried those treat balls that mentally stimulate him? Hades and snoop get Kongs every night filled with deliciousness. They also get a 2-2.5 mile walk every day or some off leash time at the park and a few play dates with friends dogs once or twice a week. A tired dobe is a happy dobe. But Hades still whines.

As long is he's not whining because he's bored, injured, etc. then just teach him the quiet command. If he's whining bc he's bored you better be filling up that kong! :D

Hades is whining as I type and trying to get on my lap.....kong time.

Gideon gets tons of exercise in the afternoons. He has a Kong but leaves it for my lap. He just talks. Peanut butter shuts him up for a while. Mostly he protests something he doesn't think is going his way. My husband has the "enough" command down. I think he knows I have a soft spot for him and he can get away with more.

Yep same with Hades. When he's barking at something he doesn't need to bark at and I tell him enough he whines very loud to express his extreme dislike that he has to stop barking. Then he usually lays down and sighs loudly in case I forgot how much he hates being told to be quiet.

It could be part of the doberteens, or he could be associating whining with getting what he wants. ******* used to whine and whine and whine. She's only a year old. She does still whine sometimes, but not nearly as much. Reason being, I stopped feeding into her dirty little mind game dobertricks. By all means if something is wrong then attend to your dog, but if they always get what they want by whining, barking, growling, etc., then they'll probably begin to associate the two.

After my night of "hell" of ignoring ******* after I knew she had been out plenty of times, she was ok, she just wanted to play; a lot of whining stopped. I just beared it that night and ignored her. It really made a difference because she realized that it doesn't get her what she wants.

She now just huff's loud enough so that I know she's still there and not happy. I get it *******! You weigh 70lbs and take up my entire bed and steel my blankets and pillows! I know you're there!

We can't get cash to make any noise. He barks at the door bell, anyone at the front door, or squirrels. We try to get him to bark and he just runs around like someone is at the door, but says nothing. We had very vocal German shepherds before so it is weird not telling him to be quiet. We are telling him to talk. Lol not sure how to get him to be more vocal other than keep training. But he normally doesn't take this long to learn something. I think he just doesn't want to. Idk
