Lucy Jumping Fences

Hello Everyone!

I have not posted on here in a long time. I just wanted to get some advice/ input on some recent behavior from Lucy. I previously lived in Portland, OR to where she would sit out in the front yard all day and sun bath (when their was sun in OR). I never ever had a problem with her running wild. Now I live in Raleigh, NC with a huge fenced in back yard. She now has made a race track in the back yard to which she runs every time she is let outside (which is pretty funny). But on the contrary she has now included jumping the fence into the neighbors yard. The fence is around 4 ft tall. Now that it is spring the neighbors have a garden and are not okay with her jumping into. As well as I have put in a garden with a fence around it , and she jumped the fence around the garden and tore it up. She gets plenty of exercise, plays everyday with her German Shepard boyfriend. As well as I take her on hikes all the time. Has anyone every had this issue? I am not sure if she thinks it is fun or what she is doing, but I can not get her to stop. What to do??

Does she have to be in the yard? If she gets plenty of exercise, play dates and hikes, then she probably doesn't need to be out there getting into trouble.

That is where she has her play dates. Fin (the German Shepard) lives right behind us. Also, that is where I let her out to use the bathroom. And going to the bathroom on walks is nearly impossible she likes to go in private. She is a silly girl.

I agree that's the only way you can "train" her from jumping the fence. If she runs wild out there, it's going to keep happening.
My girl only uses the bathroom in our yard as well. I go out with her, she does her business, I clean up, and we go in. That's it.
The only other option is to raise the height of the fence. 4 feet is too low.
