Black and Tan male about 85lbs. Currently in trouble for trying to jump over the end table and breaking moms favorite lamp. Looking pretty pitiful right about now.
Note to self: don't baby gate Diesel in the living room because he will escape. Sigh.
KW - I think I saw that exact same lamp...on the Antique Road Show, but in pristeen condition and $$.
Luckly he didn't take the lovely cast horses, down to the floor, with his high jumping.
- I looked at the title of this thread, and then whom it was from...I knew a good story was unfolding.
Now we seem to be missing a photo of the "sad" boys face...all serious like, "look Mom, I am good now"...:lol2:
This was the look I got when I let him out of his crate
Clearly he was concerned haha not really.
I got that lamp about a year ago and I love it. I would fill it with all kinds of things. It was my creative lamp now if he had gotten the horses he would've been in big big trouble. Those are my SO's grandfathers who passed away. We have 3 sets and all are awards for different things.
We had an antique water pitcher (holding dry flowers), that sat in the corner of our oak stair landing (to the 2nd floor)...also a great GF's coffee grinder that my Dad used to grind up corn/grain food for his pet guine pigs, on the family farm.
- never a concern with old girl Amy, but we did relocate it to the bay window, when Kelly puppy learned to run down the steps and jump off the landing
Safest new spot for our old pitcher, but we did have to teach Kelly not to chew the wood spindle on our turn of the century wool spinning wheel:

I've found nailing stuff of value or sentiment to the ceiling. When we had Oliver, we learned, nothing was safe. Now with Lexi, she has spoiled us, she doesn't touch a thing or get on the furniture (I can't take any credit for this, she came this way). Ollie was quite the athlete and used the house as an obstacle course. If it was in the way, he went over it. He's a big boy mom!
Haha silly Oliver. When I first brought Rogue home that's how she was. I seriously thought she believed that everything in the house was set up as an obsticale course just for her. Luckily that phase has passed. They are typically very good. Diesel has only broken one other thing and he was 6 months old at the time. Rogue has been wonderful even with all her crazy jumping in the beginning.
Here's a deal for you Kate.
I'll send you Zachary the Monsterchild , Beauford the Cat, and one grumpy Husband with a sore back.
You send me Diesel.
