Our trip to the UK

Well my and the hubby just spent 10 days back in the UK seeing family and going to a friends Wedding up in the Lake District. Our first pit-stop was my home town to see my parents as they were visiting the UK also so it was a great opportunity to get to see them both whilst we were back. Whilst I was doing some personal admin in town my hubby walked Odin then brought him back to meet me. He was sat on a bench in town and this old gentleman walked up and sat next to my hubby and Odin and started to talk to him. My hubby told me that as the old man walked off he said to my husband that Odin "is a credit to you". I am so freaking happy that someone told us that Odin is exactly what he looks like. A soft, playful wet. :D

From my home town me moved onto the Lakes. We stayed at a fabulous dog friendly hotel called Inn on the Lake at Lake Ullswater. To say the scenery was beautiful just doesn't quite cut it. We went for a fabulous 8 mile walk on the Saturday day and Odin loved every second, well OK, he didn't enjoy the steamboat ride back to the Hotel, but it was a necessary evil to get back without walking another 8 miles! :lol2: Our stay in the Lakes was a must needed break, even if Odin decided to destroy the bathroom door in our room and cost us £100 in damages, the little rascal. That incident was on our first night there, our second night, when we attended the Wedding, the receptionists offered to watch Odin for us so we could enjoy our evening without having to worry about what mischief Odin was getting himself in to.

Turns out he caused the receptionist quite a bit of mischief. He escaped her as he can open doors, we forgot to warn her about that... Anyway, Odin ran out into their gardens looking for us. The manager told us the next day it was one of the funniest things he had ever seen. In the gardens they had lights placed from one side to the other. He told us all he could see in these lights was Odin running from the light to dark with the receptionist hot on his tail. Sounds like something out of a Pink Panther movie and I would of paid to have seen it myself. At least he gave the hotel staff something to laugh at. They all loved him there.

From the Lakes we went to stay with my hubby's family. This was the part I was most apprehensive about. They had only met Odin the once last year for a few hours and they weren't going to allow Odin certain liberties that he has had at home. Like coming upstairs, being up on the sofa etc. My hubby's brother is also petrified of dogs. By the end of our few days there he had won over all of them. He was cuddling up to them on the sofa, getting up on their beds to say hello in the morning. Was a bit funny to watch the complete about turn with them, most of all was my BIL. He was taking Odin out for walks and giving him treats and all sorts. But Odin has an uncanny knack of winning people over. I am convinced its the adorable look on his face most of the time. Its hard not to fall in love with it.

Last but not least before I share some pictures. Odin turned 3 on the 18 Apr. Oh boy, some of the craziest years of my life these last 3 with Odin, but I wouldn't change one damn thing about him. I love him to pieces and I think he will always be my heart dog no matter how many others I have after him. So, the pics, please enjoy.

Aww I love the pics. Especially the sloppy kiss one! Yikes! Haha

He sounds like Hades. Always the people pleaser. Hades assumes the appropriate way to greet a new person is to climb in their lap and rest his head on their shoulder.

I'm glad everyone loved him and he certainly is a brilliant representation of the breed. Nice job Odin!
