Hasn't caught any yet, just about a foot farther in the pond it drops off to about 4 feet deep. I think the fish just laugh at her. The hippo to her left blows water out its nose and that is endless entertainment for her. So simple sometimes, and yet other times I swear she is a rocket scientist. LOL!
It was an irrigation pond many years before we bought the house. It is bigger than the swimming pool. It has fish, frogs, and craw dads. All the dogs love it, even the min pin.
Does Lyla like to eat the koi food too? I have a hard time keeping Harley out of the pond if I just fed the fish. I need to feed the fish and then call Harley into the house, or else he would steal all their food!
Oh, I know what you mean! Lyla isn't interested in the koi food but, the min pin goes out of control! She can't swim (sinks like a rock) so she gets out just to the ledge where it drops off to deeper water and uses her foot to try and draw the pellets closer. Meanwhile, the fish pay no attention to her and just keep eating.
oh wow I want a pond like that!!! I dont have a big enough yard to put a real pond in, but when we move, I hope to have enough property to have a pond, its something I have always wanted. Of course. I dont think my dogs will go in, they dont like water unless its in their dish!! lol
