They are feeding that poor mother bread?!
And the filth!
These pictures are why the lesser educated buyer feels like they are "rescuing" puppies from disgusting BYBs. I just want to go save them all (and the mom).
Oh wow! That's the posting I'm getting my new puppy from! I know the bread is so bad. Those poor dogs. Might bring home 3 and find a home for 1 or 2 elsewhere
I guess not. I mean, you seemed pretty dead set in your decision from the get-go but I just couldn't come up with the words for a response so you got the link instead. Why anybody would support a person who obviously (to me, at least) treats any animal so poorly is beyond me.
Don't reward that scummy "breeder" with a single dollar, as Rosmary said, they should be reported to whomever is in charge of animal welfare in your area. If you give them any money you will just encourage them to repeat the process, why stop when you're making money??
I can report her after I take my pick home. I don't live in the area though so not sure who to call. Driving up to get one from Pasadena area! How am I doing wrong by trying to get them out of that situation? Y'all want them to go to a shelter to be euthanized??

I think what the general y'all would like is for the puppies to be surrendered to a doberman rescue that will place them into homes prepared for the commitment of a doberman puppy.
How you're "doing wrong" is giving your money in support of this. Think of it this way... You do something terrible but people are paying you for it... what is the likelihood that you are going to stop?
I don't remember asking for "support". I'm not asking you for permission to buy one. I joined this site to frequently ask questions any owner would have when raising a puppy! You people sound like stuck-up little hitlers with your "breeding standards"
If, by some off-chance you are actually not a troll, I would recommend you read the Manifesto. If you are not in line with some of the core beliefs of the people on this board, this might not be the best place for you. Also, you will see there that name calling is against the rules.
I would happily put the person responsible in that poorly conditioned cage and throw them bread soaked up in water to live for couple of weeks. If not longer.....
Definitely don't believe that poster ^ can be real.. No one in their right mind would be that.. stupid?.. argh. Things like this bug me.
Look, I'll be as nice as possible...it isn't even royal breeding standards, it's an issue of directly supporting cruelty, abusive, and utterly irresponsible behavior.
Do you want more puppies to be bred and house like that? Walking in their own filth, eating what looks like WHITE BREAD? That isn't ethical in the least.
By you giving any amount of money to these "breeders" is directly supporting their operation. They'll do it again, once they realize they can make a profit. Will they profit? Sure, cuz they're probably not worrying about health, food, or medication bills. Or even housing. By buying a puppy, you are adding to the problem, ENCOURAGING it. Does that matter to you?
If your goal is to have a doberman, I'd recommend you stick around, learn a bit from other people's experiences and seek out a rescue, shelter, or reputable breeder in your area
For the record, and my last comment, I have been in the Shelter industry for 14 years, the veterinry industry for 12, and Doberman Rescue for 9. Puppies would NOT be euthanized NOR would they "take so long to be adopted no one would want them"
Applicaton come FLYING in for doberman puppies in rescue. . . . . . . The last litter in our rescue we turned away over 100 applcations on the 8 puppies. . . . . .
OP welcome to the forum. You have to have tough skin to be here. Please understand that many of the members here are seasoned in this breed and breed specific rescue.
Please stick around to learn more about the breed and keep an open mind to the thoughts of others as you may grow to understand why we are, do and say what we do.
I too hope you are not going to pay this horrible Backyard Breeder. I understand it is tough to turn down a puppy. Mom doesn't appear to be properly cared for and therefor the pups may not be in the healthiest of conditions.
I agree that animal control should be contacted! If you are still set on purchasing this pup please allow us to help and guild you to do right by him and the Doberman breed. Should you see why we are warning you and back out, please call the am A.C.O. In that area. Usually you can start by contacting the local police department.
This breed is much more than strong and actually IMHO represents intelligence more than anything else, as well as elegance.
THAT CL ADD IS THE WORST!!! How could anyone get involved with the poster is one question. Who could post that picture and be ok with it , it is more than shameful , i am just dumbfounded. The person who allowed this deserves nothing !
I wouldn't be surprised if "someone" was involved with that heartbreaking situation from that truly heartbreaking photo. I'm glad you were able to obtain some proof and report them interrobang. Thank you.
I cannot even imagine the health problems and expense one would have with a puppy and dam fed bread. That type of non-nutrition will cause skeletal issues, growth issues, can affect vision, hearing, liver, kidneys and just about everything else. Rest assured these will not be cheap puppies.
Poor innocent dam and pups, suffering as a result of the human excrement that is allowed to own these animals, and try to make money off them. I shall hope for a good outcome, I wish I was not so far away.
This makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. I am just shocked at how low people can go... And those poor dogs have to pay for it.
