Took Mariano outback to play and go potty. He was bouncing around like his usual self, until he saw a very large bumble bee; this being the first bee he has ever seen, tried to tell him to back off, but he was VERY interested. He chased it around the yard, until it flew under the fence. Everything seemed fine, though he was VERY focused on the place in the fence where the bee went, and he would not play ball with me. All of the sudden, he ran inside as fast as he could. I forced him to come down and come back outside, and he did. But he was SO afraid, he cried and leaned against my legs, before running back inside. This time, I went back upstairs with him.

Now that we are upstairs, he is in his corner of the couch, curled into a little ball of fear, shaking like he has seen a ghost. He keeps looking around the room, eyes darting like he sees something.

I do not think he got stung, because he did not jump back suddenly or lick or favor any part of his body... and believe me, my dog is a drama queen. He stubs a toe, and he acts like someone chopped off his leg... I have no idea what just happend, but he is now asleep in his little corner, still shaking some though.[/quote]

Being the owner of Calamity, I know this behavior all too well.
When she does this, overly fearful, I leash her up and immediately take her for a walk with little verbal contact.

When I get back I then would casually walk over to the object and talk to it, sing at it, dance with it.

I learned that from DINOS (dogs in need of space).

It works, it snaps them out if it without you. They work it out. If that makes sense.
