Travel restraints...need some input

Ok, going on a road trip where crates are not going to be an option.

I have harnesses. I would like something that will clip into the seatbelt buckle, not something that has to have the seatbelt slide thru a loop.

Does anyone have hands on with this:?
Dog Auto Travel Safety: Kwik Connect Tether & Harness
Does the tether have a "buckle end" near the button, or does the button only operate the clip that attaches to the anchor point?

Does anyone have hands on with any style that does clip into the rear seat buckle?

Interesting. I didn't know something like that existed. It could be a good idea depending on the dog.

I put a blanket down across the back seat for *******. She usually just lays there and then sits up when I stop at the stop lights. She's never gotten sick, but I get the feeling that she gets motion sickness when she tries to look out the window while we're moving.

If you do try that harness, please let us know how it worked :)

Was actually planning to "build" a couple of tethers of this sort....then found them :)

I was interested in how effective travel restraints were a bit back, most here are marketed as being seat belts, but in reality they are only effective in stopping the dog from jumping around. They won't stop them from crashing through the cab of the car into the back of your head if you are involved in a collision.

Now whilst it is good to stop your dog jumping around, if something is sold as being a seat belt I truly believe it should act as one. Not sure what the one you are thinking of getting is marketed as being able to do. Are you buying it just for the restraint factor or in the hope it will act as a seat belt too.

That is (acting as a seat belt) the other goal. Yes, keeping Magnum from trying to climb in my lap while driving is VERY high up on my list of things to do....but I do want an alternate (non crate) method of "protection" for trips.
The whole 'loop that slides on the seat belt' idea looks like it would not work well as a protective restraint. I assume, if I can clip the tether directly to the seat belt buckle/anchor it will prevent dog projectiles in case of a crash. The original product mentioned is marked (in combo w/harness) as a seat belt/protective restraint in addition to an excessive motion restraint.
