Soter has a bad cuz toy that he just loves to play with. He was playing with it last night in fact. So of course we didn't think anything of it when he walked past carrying it in his mouth. A little while later (maybe 10 min.) he walked by again still with it in his mouth. Both times his nub was a waggin about a hundred miles an hour and he had laughter in his eyes, you know, you've all seen it, that kind of delighted twinkle with a bit of you don't know how clever I am in it! We laughed and commented on how cute he is. The third time he walked by, still with the cuz in his mouth we thought OK, this is odd. He has the attention span of a gnat and while he loves his bad cuz, he will usually only play with any given toy for a few minutes at a time before moving onto the next toy. We call him over and try to take the cuz from him and this is what we found

He had somehow managed to get the plug shoved inside the body and then proceeded to stick his great big tongue inside and got it stuck! You would not believe how proud he was of himself!

So being the great Mom that I am, of course I grab the camera before going to help him!

We got his tongue unstuck, threw the cuz away and then had to spend the rest of the evening listening to him whine and pace in front of the garbage can because we ruined his fun. Oh those silly dober-boys :roflmao:

It is very funny but I am really glad you got his tongue out safely.... My vet has pictures on his wall where with a warning where a dog got his tongue caught while the owners were at work and part of the tongue had to be amputated, apparently because the toy was air tight other than the hole its tongue was stuck in and the chewing caused a vacuum.

No worries there! This is exactly the reason why they are safely crated when ever we're away. Both are a going concern but Soter most of all. We also supervise them with all their toys. If anyone is interested though, to get his tongue out, we poked a hole in the other side, it broke the suction and it dropped right off :D
