Toorc started smiling when he was about 4 months old I think. My first dobe didn't until about a year old. I'm so glad that I was lucky enough to have 2 do it. Definitely a trait that melts my heart <3
I just love toothy smiles! It's funny that such a submissive gesture can look so intimidating to the untrained eye! We used to have a shih tzu mix that would come into the salon and smile a VERY toothy smile every time you would go to get him out of the kennel...we had a new bather just about crap her pants the first time he did this to her! LMBO!
my Bella does the same thing .. every morning when she comes to wake me up I see it, and I love it, I wish I could catch it on camera so I could show ppl what I mean when I tell them she smiles at me.
Smilin' Jack. A friend caught this on her cellphone camera. It's the best pic we have, as the smile is always accompanied by an excited wagging tail and wiggling butt.
