a few things here and there are worded differently.
might be more info in the Canadian one, more indepth.
ya know, it has been years since i have compared the 2.
i am not sure if the canadian one was ever changed since it was accepted, not even sure when it was last updated or if ever.
there has been at least a couple of different american standards over the years, not sure how many times it was changed, i have some older books with an old standard, not sure how many years the one used now has been 'used'.
I haven't really read the Canadian standard that closely, but I think their standard is similar to the DPCA standard...much of it is in the wording. The Canadian standard lists faults, i.e., bitchy looking dogs and doggy looking bitches. The DPCA standard lists faults as a deviation of the "ideal" Doberman and would be penalized accordingly. The biggest difference between the standards is the Canadian standard allows for uncropped ears and the DPCA doesn't, thus in the US ring uncropped would be considered a fault and penalized accordingly but not a disqualification. Honestly, you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between a well-bred Canadian dog and one from the States, thus the Am/Can champions.
The Canadian standard was updated a few years ago to add the disqualification for dogs not of an accepted colour along with a few "housekeeping" odds and ends.
