| Smelly Springtime! I have kept the dogs confined for the winter to a section at the side of the house that is all patio stones. Poop cleanup was a breeze, but it really smells like urine. I'm thinking of buying a bunch of vinegar and pouring it on the stones to get rid of the smell. I am looking for suggestions on how to get rid of the smell without chemicals that will harm the dogs or the environment.

| Yes rusty a lime solution made with garden dolmite lime works great to 'sweeten' the ground. |

| i agree on the lime ideas and we used Natures miracles on the inside of the house when the dogs were puppies and it worked REALLY well. Have not tried it outside on tiles but I am sure that it would do the job just as good!! |

| You can also mix a bleach solution, let it set overnight and hose really well the next morning. The lyme is good to follow up with. Natures Miracle is great, but have never tried it outside. I have used it on their crates though and it worked very well.

Natures Miracle sounds like a good starting place though.

It may burn the grass, but I am talking about a weak solution and I thought that it was on a stone patio. Is there any way to contain the drips before saturation sets in?? Just a thought.
If fthey are individual stones and you are ambiscious, then the natures miracle and a scrub brush is the best idea on a very sunny and warm day. Good luck.

| considering ammonia is very basic, you might consider cleaning with something acidic like pool cleaning agents. I know that muriatic acid works wonders on stone but leaves it's own unique (and toxic) smell

| Another vote for Nature's Miracle. It's all we've ever used and works better than anything we've ever seen. You can buy it a Pet's Mart or if you don't have any of those around you, you can usually find it on eBay. Good luck! |
