PLease go this web site and read all about it.:please:
Always Faithful-The Centennial of the Doberman Pinscher in the United States

Here is the additional information I wanted DT to read:

March 8, 2008

Dear DPCA Members,

We are very excited by this unveiling. The Centennial Event is described under the Tab marked, appropriately enough, "Centennial Event." I think it speaks for itself what we intend to do. We are going to make this event something much larger than a celebration of the breed.

Over the past several weeks, we have been working with the AKC's chief lobbyist in Washington, D.C., Dr. James Holt, on several initiatives. Dr. Holt is at this moment working on getting Congressional sponsorship for a Joint Resolution of Congress proclaiming 2008 to be the Centennial Year of the Doberman in the United States. As a Centennial Circle member, you are entitled to advance notice of news items throughout the year leading up to the Centennial Event. I have therefore attached a copy of the Joint Resolution that we have drafted and which Dr. Holt is circulating on Capitol Hill.

The AKC is very much with us about the significance of the event. We believe that we can, if we do this right, obtain the political support of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for the breeding by American breeders of American Dogs for America's Security. If we do this, then we will have gained a tremendous ally in the struggle to overcome animal-rights' inspired breeding bans and other adverse legislation where it may arise.

This is no pipe-dream. A bill has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives, H.R. 659, which is entitled the "Canine Protection Team Improvement Act of 2007." If passed, the bill will require the Secretary of Homeland Security to make it a priority to increase the number of domestically-bred canines used by the Department to assist in its counter-terrorism mission. We are working now to get a hearing for the bill, which is before the House Homeland Security Committee. We are also working on getting co-sponsors in the House, and trying to find a sponsor for a companion Senate version. Dr. Holt is working hard at this. He has met with several Congressional staffers of key players.

The Centennial Event will be used as a showcase to attract the attention of DHS representatives, who we hope to have present there to witness the signing of a "Contract Among American Working Dog Clubs," in which we symbolically commit ourselves to supply American Dogs for America's Security. The following day is the AKC Working Dog Trial. The opportunity must not be lost to demonstrate that American breeders can supply these dogs.

I hope you will like the website. Much hard work has gone into this by the Centennial Committee. It is an important step to launch our initiative. Please view at Always Faithful-The Centennial of the Doberman Pinscher in the United States

Finally, I ask a favor of you. Share this effort with your friends. Call them. Ask them to support us financially. We need money. We are flying into Topeka the last living World War II War Dog Handlers. We are putting them up at the National hotel. We are going to embark on a broad media effort, including getting a satellite truck there to uplink feed to networks and network affiliates during the week. We are going to engage in a satellite media tour. We are going to produce a public service announcement that is television quality.

All of this costs money. We have the enthusiasm. We have the vision. We have the determination. We have the expertise. We need money. All donations to the DPCA are fully deductible as a charitable contribution under IRC Section 501(c)(3). Today we have added to the "Always Faithful" web page the ability for you to donate using Paypal.

To donate by check, please contact our Finance Sub Committee Chair: Marsha Sheppard legacydobermans@msn.com 801-553-6444 for information on membership levels. Please send your check payable to DPCA to:

The United Doberman Club is also celebrating the 100th year anniversary of the Doberman for their upcoming national specialty and will be offering a great logo on several different items. Their premium is not out yet, but when it does come out, Dobe lovers will like the items.

There is really more to it, which without the permission of the DPCA, I cannot cut and paste.
I am waiting for the OK and let you all know the DPCA is doing behind the scenes.
