I have a food blog and am starting to blog dog treat recipes and how to make them.

Here is the first of many to come- Homemade Sweet Potato Chews!

I made some the other day, but I just laid them on the oven rack, without the cookie sheet or oil. Lets see.... a pound of store-bought sweet potato treats runs about $16, but a pound of fresh sweet potatoes is only $.97. Yeah, no contest.

All I need to do now is figure out how to make the liver coated ones like Crumps does. I have freeze dried liver (that I can grind to a powder in the food processor), but I'm not sure how to get it to adhere to the chips.

Kale is a leafy green vegetable. I like it roasted or sauteed, where it brings out a nutty flavor. I'm not a fan of it "raw."

I don't like coconut water/milk due to the weird thick texture. However, I do like using coconut oil, which is probably what you see me using on my blog on occasion. It has a ton of health benefits. At the end of the day though, I think both kale and coconut products are fads...although beneficial, they seem a bit overplayed to me.

Here is the link to the soft pretzels!

The pretzels look interesting. However, I suspect some food allergies/sensitivity in Ilka and Leo, and an trying to avoid wheat. Any suggestions for another type of flour that I can try in these?
