| Thanks to all!!! Thanks to all for your responses on my questions about the raw diet... I have one more question that I did not ask the first time...
What is the best raw meat to feed your dog? I have raw lamb and deer meat at home right now.... Is that really good to be feeding them or is chicken better? I heard that chicken can be high in cholesterol... And is raw beef bad? I know that as longs as I am the one feeding it to them it is better cause I know where it is coming from but I just want some opinions on what is the best raw meet.... I have my girl dobe on the lamb and deer right now like I said before. We started it just a couple days ago and she is doing great! |

| Cholesterol is not a problem with dogs nor humans but I won't go there in this thread.
All different meats are good for your kids, venison and lamb are excellent...so is beef. It is reccommend that you rotate meats, to get all the vitamins, amino acids that each different meat contains. We tell you to start with chicken because most dogs do well on it for the first couple of weeks when they can have digestive problems. You can't just feed ground every meal, unless there is bone ground into what you are feeding. They must have bone...it could cause major health problems with out it.

| Mine LOVE raw chicken leg quarters. They have a good amount of bone and meat on them. Luvbirds knows what she's talking about. She's been feeding raw for awhile. |

| any type of meat that you can eat, your dog can eat. Lexx loves lots of things, he's very partial to rabbit and duck.
He also enjoys lamb, veal, pork, chicken, beef, turkey, cornish hen, pheasent, deer and fish ( several kinds)
I'm sure if I could get it he'd love ostrich, emu, kangaroo, buffulo... well you get the point.
he's not too picky

| You should rotate meat types when feeding raw, and definitely include bone. Don't forget to include organ meat, too. My gang gets chicken, turkey, mackeral, and beef organ meat. Also, be sure to offer a variety of ground vegetables, too - about 1/4 cup/day for adults. You shouldn't feed just straight meat and bone. |

| I just started as well. From what I read lots start on chicken. I've actually started on chicken and venison. I'm going to introduce Nyx to beef in the morning when we start loading her clicker. She starts puppy kindergarten soon. They say to start with one meat source and then slowly expand once your dog is comfortable with that.
I'm on the prey model diet, so no veggies or carbs for us.
Nyx is getting meat bones and we're introducing organ meat soon. She also gets eggs. She looks great and my GSD who I have also switched over is itching less and seems happier and more energetic. |

| We feed Jada chicken, pork, lamb, venison, beef, cornish game hens and turkey. She also gets mackeral and mahi. Along the lines of organ she gets gizzards and beef hearts. She does not like livers and she hates tripe. For her birthday in October we got her some buffalo and she liked that. You will probably have to work it as a trial and error to find out what your dog will like. Good luck!
