| 24 Hour Holter Moniter Where is the best place to rent one???
WSU will rent one for $135 for the first dog, and $95 for each additional dog.
$100 deposit.
Is this about average?
I can BUY a used one (with one year warranty) for $500.
Just kind of looking around right now...I would like to get a baseline on Piper, Rommel and Ziris.
Thanks

Thanks | You might try checking with a DPCA chapter club near you, a lot of them are buying Holter monitors and renting them out.
If that's not an option, I'd consider buying one..it's more cost effective for the home with multiple dogs.

| | Alpha | Another option is to enroll in the Holter project through Guelph University in Canada. If you can get a group of dogs to commit to an ongoing arrangement (and I'm not sure how many dogs constitute a group), they'll send you a holter to use, and it's something like $70/dog per year.

| Hmmm, That is something to consider...I have 3 dogs, and I am soon to have 4. However, at that rate, I might as well just buy one...
I think I am avoiding the inevitable Looks like it might just be best to buy one.
I just looked at the DPCC (Charlotte Club) and they dont say anything about the holter rental, but I guess I would need to be a member.
Do you have to be a DPCA member to join chapter clubs?
Also, to join DPCA, you have to have 2 members sign for you, is that correct?

You don't need to be a DPCA member to join a chapter club. Many times joining a chapter club is a good way for members who are also DPCA members to get to know you well enough to feel comfortable sponsoring you for DPCA membership.
You might try seeing if there are any board certified cardiologists in NC, and whether they'd rent out a Holter. But it really is true that in the long run it's cheaper to just buy your own if you've got more than one or two dogs.
