RE: Cheap and FREE drugs Premission to cross-post this.
Not sure if this can help anyone, but figured it wouldn`t hurt to post

Good news for folks treating their DCM Dobes with the drug Coreg (aka Carvedilol). I’ve been ordering this drug through an online Canadian pharmacy at a monthly (33 day supply) cost of $136 (including shipping)- now mind you, this was from Canada so you can imagine what the US pharmacies were charging for this drug. The good news is that Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club have recently added this drug to their $4 list. Now the $4 is for a normal human dose for one month- apparently dogs take a little bit more, and so my total cost for a month’s supply is now $6.67- a savings of $130 a month! So if you are ordering your Carvedilol elsewhere, switch your prescription over to Wal-Mart or Sam’s Club ASAP!

Also, if you are in an area with Publix grocery stores- be aware that they now offer some standard antibiotics (such as Cephalexin, Cipro and Doxycycline) for FREE with your vet’s written or called-in prescription. They will only fill it for two weeks at a time, but will refill per your vet’s instructions.

I get any of my dogs medications filled through the Kroger/Bakers stores at their $4 program I can. That is where I get most of Asher's meds. His Digoxin and Lasix comes to mind at the moment.

Wish I'd known about this forum when my last was on heart meds. I'll store this info away. Thanks.
