Whole lamb neck

Whole duck (split between the two of them)
Ground green tripe (split between the two of them)

| Yours looks nice and clean to Kim. They eat better then half the people on earth.
Oh and why do you feed rah frozen food. Is there a reason?

| I love the last pic of Berlin and the game hen!
I have to echo the frozen question though... Why frozen - I thought frozen bones were bad, bad, bad - or was just the meat frozen and the turkey was thawed?

Great pics Kim - thanks. Now I think I remember that you don't necessarily feed Rah every day, depending, correct? Hence bigger meals....

| Yup Rah eats frozen (and has since I got him!) because he eats too fast - this was to give me time to myself. Though he does eat more and more thawed, because now its just a pain with all the other dogs in the house. I haven't had any problems with the bones, they react the same frozen or thawed! Raw inhales them the same
Nope, no veggies or fruits, except what he eats off my plate, or the veggies in the gross green tripe.
I have to go to the foodstore for some chicken tonight, I forgot to get anything out to thaw!

| if you don't mind me asking, what is your weekly raw food budget? I feed premium kibbles which are costly but just wondering how raw stacks up costwise. No doubt raw is healthier I think. |

| Well, I don't think I'd pay more for feeding kibble - if I do feed them kibble, my dogs would be eating approx 20 cups a day. Tyler eats 6-7 cups of EVO a day, rah is 7-8 cups/day when he is fed kibble, and Berlin was eating 6 when she was eating kibble. So, 20 cups a day between three dogs means you go through 60 dollar bags of Innova EVO pretty quickly, right?
I average feeding about 40 lbs a week - some of my meat is very inexpensive (chicken and turkey, or instance, i can get well under 50 cents a lb, for instance, and I would say that makes up about half of their diet) - but some of their diet is over 2 dollars a lb. I would say on average I pay about 1/lb, maybe 1.25/lb? So say on average I spend 100-150/month feeding Berlin and Rah - Tyler eats mostly EVO, so he eats about 50 dollars worth of kibble a month, plus some Raw (and he's working through random other kibbles right now too - puppy kibble I had for berlin, leftover kibble elle couldnt feed to her dog - Tyler is an iron trash can! I actually got a GREAT deal on venison and rabbit as well right now, and I can get pork for a dollar a lb, so it's really just beef that ends up being expensive, and lamb - so I can feed most of my meals right now for 1/lb or less.
So - long story short - about 100-150/month to feed the two dogs. But we shall see as Berlin starts to grow where she ends up and how much she ends up eating. We are still adjusting.
Carol -
I feed tripe about once a week, maybe once every week or two?
I'll let you know next time I order it through my co=op, maybe you can just order some through me? I paid 1.75/lb i believe ? When I feed it I split the 4-5 lbs between Rah and Berlin, and sometimes Tyler too. Like I said, I go for simple. I buy things in 1-2 dog sized meals on purpose Rah eats 2-3 lbs and Berlin gets the rest.

| This thread is really helpful to me as I am in the stage of having made my decision to go to raw feeding but not quite ready to start. I see that you feed most of the meals in bowls. Do your dogs drag the food around a bit on the floor as they are eating? When I have occasionally fed raw to my dogs I put down a towel and make them stay on it because they tend to make a big mess. Do they just eat it down right over the bowl after they master the raw eating skills (my two are pretty clumsy at it but they don't get it very often)? Thanks for the photos and info!

If feeding lets say 1/4 chicken I just toss it on the ground outside. I got tired of trying to keep the meals on towels etc.
