| Raw feeding pictures... Raw feeding FAQ's
So I just read that whole thread...like 3 years worth of discussion on the topic and I'm intrigued by it.
For those of you that have gone this direction, can you toss up some pics of some typical meals? I'd like to see specifically what you feed. Before, after and while they are eating.
If somone can post maybe like a weeks worth of meals (in pictures) like a journal that would be awesome!!
What do you think?

| Raw Feeding Recipes
This is my favorite for that!
Feed 2-3% of your dogs weight a variety of Raw Meaty bones. 80-10-10%
Meat/bone/organ Chicken, Beef, Pork, Turkey, add some fish and a bit of tripe occasionally and that's it. If you can get other meats like lamb, duck, rabbit, venison...great....if not....that is fine too.
Example....today Petey had 1/2 a beef kidney 1 pound of tripe and 1 pound of chicken leg with the bone.
Carol & Petey!

| | Alpha | hmm, if you want week's picture diary, you'll have to wait a week, LOL. I only have pictures of a few interesting meals, not the regular cut up beef, etc.
First one is about 4 beef ribs all in one piece. It was her first time eating ribs, so she worked on them for over 1.5 hours. Now it takes her hardly any time at all.
Second picture she's half way through an Emu rib carcas, not something she gets very often. Raw Emu - wow!
Here you can find a picture of a huge raw Emu neck that I posted about. I split that one into 2 meals however.

ox | Thanks for the link! Looks interesting. Maybe I'll get syd a nice steak for dinner. Is there any risk of throwing up or loose BM if its her first raw meal? |

ok, so when speaking about % of food weight to body weight, do you guestimate when its frozen, thawed, meat content minus the bone, meat with bone or what? |

| Example....so you don't have to ever measure or weigh. Today you feed two pounds of chicken parts, that is heavy on the bone....so tomorrow you feed more meat....maybe a pot roast....you try and mentally balance over a couple of days, a week, to make sure you aren't feeding too much bone. You can have rear end explosions in the early days...so we tell newbies to start with one meat for several weeks..... just chicken....nothing else not even organ, until your dogs system is used to digesting raw meat. We also don't recommend mixing kibble and raw at the same meal....they both digest at different rates and it isn't good for the dog.

| | Alpha | I don't mind taking pics for a week - but I don't weigh food anymore at all, and my scale broke, so I won't be able to tell you how much I'm feeding, except when feeding 1/4 chicken (about 1 lb). Sometimes she eats a ton, gets a little heavy, then I cut back for a while, and sometimes she gets a tad skinny and so it varies. Also, I cut boneless meat into pieces, otherwise she'll just swallow it as big as possible. Some raw feeders are against any cut up or ground meats, and only feed whole prey at all times. I think Carol already said it, it's about balance over time.....
