Cleo's having at least one tooth extracted tomorrow

Well Cleo is going in tomorrow to get a tooth extracted that appears to be dead. It's the incisor right before the K9 tooth. She is also getting the same tooth on the other side looked at, since she broke a piece off the tip. It appears that no nerve is exposed so they might just smooth it out, if not that one will have to come out too. And she also has some kind of a skin growth hanging off her gum over a back molar and they will remove that as well. My poor girl. Incidentally I just found one of Khaos's puppy teeth today. He lost plenty so far, I just never found one before. Too bad they can't transplant that one

I think I will let her have a bully stick tonight since she probably won't be allowed one for a while.

xoxoxo for Cleo girl - from Kelly & her Dad, from Canada.
- when Amy was a puppy, I only found one baby tooth on the living room rug (and kept it)
- two nights ago, on the love seat with Mom, Kelly sounded like she was chewing a pebble...think it might of been a baby tooth, that fell out
- first Dobe Tanya, never found any of her baby teeth
Glad they don't hide them under a pillow, waiting for the tooth fairy $$, to come.

------------Kelly & (Amy - RIP @ 11.7 y/o)

I let her have one of the bully sticks you sent. They are so nice and thick. She was in heaven for about 1 1/2 hours. I figure she deserved it.

Rays & Hugs to Cleo hope she does well at the vets. Patches my Dachshund had a growth that was long in the bottom of her mouth by the little teeth in front. Had the vet look at it twice because it was growing thats all the vet did is look at it. I was getting disgusted with the vet I wanted it gone one night Patches yelped guess she bit it off next day it was gone ???

I just got a call that Cleo is out of surgery and I can pick her up after 3. I always worry when she needs to go under anesthesia, so I'm very relieved. It appears everything went well, but I didn't get to speak with the vet himself, just the office staff, so I will know more when I pick her up.

Very happy to know Cleo's dental surgery went well. Waiting for that phone call must have been tough. Hugs to Cleo during her recovery.

Cleo is home, safe and sound, but a little loopy. Not that that dampens her appetite any. I did give her half a cheeseburger. It is after all soft and her favorite. She rarely gets them unless she has had a bad day at the vet. While I would not give either Thor or Khaos one on a day they had anesthesia, Cleo has an iron clad stomach. However the boys did get to share the other half. I probably will give her a little of her food soaked in water in a couple of hours. I did get some Tramadol for her, but she got a pain injection after surgery so she shouldn't need any today.
As we hoped they only had to pull one tooth and they cleaned up the other. They lasered or cauterized off that skin flap on her gum and also cauterized a small skin tag on her head. And her teeth are now squeaky clean.

So I left Cleo on the couch all bundles up to go soak her food. I thought she nodded off. So I tip toed into the kitchen and VERY quietly put some food in her bowl so I can soak it. Apparently not quietly enough. She came running so fast that she nearly wiped out coming around the corner into the kitchen. And now she has to wait 15 more min until its soaked long enough.

And now we had a wipe out going the other way with Khaos. Since I waited to feed them all until Cleo was ready, I guess he was extra hungry. He gets fed in his crate but always observes the preparation of his meal in the kitchen. He ran to his crate so fast when I shook his bowl to distribute the fortiflora powder that he had trouble going around the corner. Now all we need is for Thor to pull a similar stunt (and with him it's most likely to happen in the very wet and muddy yard) and we have a complete set.

well her tummy seems fine but she seems to be in a bit of pain and I just noticed a little bit of blood on her gum. Not alot and its kind of watered down, so it's not like bright red. I soaked her food for 15 min with water as the vet recommended. I only gave her about 1/4 to 1/2 a cup of food. But maybe it still wasn't soft enough. I just left a message with my vets emergency number to find out what if anything I should do for her tonight.
Ok they called me back before I finished typing the message. He said I can give her a Tramadol and that a little bit of blood isn't that unusual, especially since mixed with Saliva it look like more than it is. And it really doesn't look like much to begin with, but I'm paranoid and my vet has an emergency number for established clients. So i'm glad I called. I feel better and hopefully Cleo will too once the Tramadol kicks in.
